hey guys i have a full 3 inch exhaust with a mganflow striaght through muffler on the end of it and im looking to quiet it down quite a bit. Will a 3inch in/out cat do the trick for making my car quieter??

It will quiet up the car a bit, but a silencer would be better. The silencer actually sounds pretty cool, but you can feel the difference in power. Try a cat first, because you should have one anyway. :nono:

i know thats why im starting with a cat, plus in my defense i bought the system from another dsm'r so it was that way when i got to it.

i tried the silencer and i didnt like what it did to my performance it seemed to make my car not perform as well

I did on my car.I put a short resonator in place of cat/even put a heat shield on to look like one/.After that i put another resonator out back, not so far away from the muffler.I got a nice sound and much quieter exhaust overall/about 15-20%/.

Get a summit muffler SUM-628230 3"in+out or SUM-628370 3"in 2- 21/2"out they are quiet and cheep $32.95

I kinda like the loud sound of my car. Its warming and if I can't hear my engine, I can't shift right. On a side note, the ladies like 'em loud.
