Im in the process of pulling my motor out of my talon since I have been having an issue with the #3 piston pushing the spark plug gapped closed while under high boost this was also causing a misfire in the same cylinder.so I put some spacers on the plug to separate it from the piston.it was still misfiring but not closing the gad anymore.well today while I was pulling the motor I took my I.c. piping off and my j pipe was lose.the bolts were not even finger tight.my question is would the boost leak actually cause a misfire code.even after the piston is not hiting the spark plug.

I'd be more worried about why your piston is hitting the spark plug...

I have bpr7es plugs and stock wires...I didn't think that a boost leak would trigger the ecu c.e.l. now I am sure I do need a new motor since the piston is hitting the spark plug.but I would hate to get my new block and still have the misfire issue. My new short block will be coming in,in a few days. I ordered it from strictly import motorsports.com
