Will a AUTO gauge cluster work in manual?

White Face Gauge Cluster?

Is it a full Gauge Cluster, or just the faces? Got pictures? It might be from a 99 Special Edition, which came with OEM White Face Gauges. I'd love to get ahold of a set. Automatic gauge clusters will work. Its just it will look a little funny since it has the P, N, R lights in the center of the Speedo and Tach.

IF not, look for some Gauge Faces, they are easy to install, you just pull them over the needles of the stock gauges and put everything back together... I love mine...

***Edit***, sorry I didn't read your post very well about the 99 Special Edition (OZ Edition)... I'm stupid... If you keep your eye out, you can find them. I see them atleast one, once a month on Ebay.

He stated in the first post he was trying to make his car a '99 OZ clone which would mean the cluster is from a Special Edition. And it's a full cluster since he's asking if the automatic cluster will work in a manual car.

Yeah, I kinda figured that afterwards, which is why I edited my post

Auto gauges do not say "P R D 1 2" anywhere on the cluster....it is the same as a manual cluster, although it does have a O/D light in the middle.

Yeah they do. I owned a 2g Automatic.

I was gonna say...

They have that black strip in the middle of the tach and speedo that says the selection the shifter is in. I accidentally bought an auto cluster (but I'm just putting LED's in it so it doesn't really matter) and saw that.

I was going to get an Automatic cluster, or just a Automatic Carbon Gauge Bezel to go around the gauges like I just posted above, and install some LED's in place of the PNRD123 lights for my radar detector.

Infact, about the Overdrive light also, The manual gauge clusters have the Overdrive light also. There are a ton of lights that mitsubishi installed, but never hooked up. Like the Fog Light Indicator light (as seen in my avatar on the right), which lights up when your fog lights are on. Also they had a AT Trans Temp light. and some other cool options. To see what kind, you gotta pull your cluster apart, pull the two lenses out and look at them in some light... the fog indicator was easy to hookup, just check on the How-To's here in the forums.

Guys the main difference with the auto and manual clusters is

1. The RPM's only go up to 8000 rpms on the auto while the manual goes up to 9000 rpms.
2. Also, the CEL light when displayed shows "Service Engine Soon" rather than the normal CEL.

And also what others stated about the white face gauges.

Also, my auto cluster on my old GS does not have the P,R,N,D,2,L in the cluster nor does any aother auto eclipes that I've driven. Only had it at the shifter area. Only thing there was just the OD signal.

My 2G RS had PNRD located at the top going downward. Also a 2G GS Automatic I drove I belive had the entire bar with them. I remember them quite well.

When I had my RS, you could barely notice them, unless you were in that specific gear, and thats when they would light up. IF you looked at them hard, you could see the letters... But if not, they are just dark until you switch gears. P was lit up in red, the rest were a cheasemo green color

Well, as you can see Im not arguing with you. I made my statement and I posted my pic to back it up. And as you can see from the pic there is nothing above the OD signal. So maybe it was an option or maybe it was just made for certain years? I dont know...

Can you find a pic of this with the P,R,N,D,2,L above the OD signal?

Every auto dsm I've been in had no gear indicator on the gauge cluster. I own a auto dsm and a M/T dsm and both of them have that bar looking strip in between the tach and speedo but there is nothing there.

I have a 95 auto and I did the manual swap and the only difference I've found is I get a Trans Temp light at start up and my overdrive light doesn't light any more.
