Richmond hill,
I was wondering if my 98 TSi ECU would work in a 95 Talon TSi (originally EPROM). I know I have to change the firing order, but I realized that the 95`s have a internal CAS where as mine has a external CAS. I know it will work for mine because DSMLink has a "cam inverter" option.

I have tried doing a search but couldn't find anything . Could someone clear this up for me?
thanks

It'll "work" but barely. A friend of mine with a 95 borrowed my stock 98 ECU (after I got a DSMLink ECU) and it would just barely run his car, even with the firing order switched.

when you do the opposite (95 in a 98), you need to invert the CAS signal or else you'll get random missfire CEL's, AND swap the plug wires.

Wait a sec.... I'm not doubting you, but I have a 95 ECU in my 99 and I didnt need to invert the CAS signal (to my knowledge). I just swapped the plug wires and was good to go. Can you please futher explain this CAS signal inverting?? Thanks.

you need to invert the CAS signal because the 97 is on the passenger side and the 95-96 ison the drivers side and you have an inverted signal. i dont know EXACTLY why it must be done, but i do know that until i inverted it, i was gettin random misfire CEL's and so was everyone else that uses dsmlink in the 2gb's

will someone back me up with the reason why?

I put the 98 ECU into the 95 today. I swapped wires for 1 and 3, 2 and 4. The car ran fine thanks. Now I got me an EPROM ECU I'll just use the inverted setting on DSMLink as well as swap my firing order.

Do you need to invert the signal when using the EPROM w/ DSMlink?? Or just everytime you use an EPROM period? I have a 95 EPROM w/ a TMO chip and all I did was change my spark plugs around and my car runs fine. It just starts really hard.....

Your profile says you have a stage 3 chip so if you told TMO you had a 99, they inverted the cas signal via the chip.
