2G Will 1g ECU go into the 2g?

Just bought a 1991 Eclipse GSX With DSM Link v3. We are parting out the car and i was wondering if it is possible to put the 1g ECU into the 2g, does anyone make an adapter?

1g ecus have 3 plugs going into the ecu while 2gs have 4. Besides that your 2g is OBDII and depending on your state inspection regulations you would not be able to pass if they wanted to scan your car.

I can't think of one reason why you wouldn't just sell that ECU and get ECMlink for your 2g if that is what you want. They do not interchange and given the availability of stuff for 2g I wouldn't even consider it. 1g is older obviously and some people have benfitted from swapping to a 2g or evo ecu and the associated wiring changes that go with it. I wouldn't go backwards.

Im not worried about any regulations, so your saying it would be better to just sell the set up and buy it for my 2G?

It can be done as I have already done it for a friend here on DSMtuners. I have been dealing with allot of electrical wiring in both 1g's and 2g's and I put all my knowledge to work and made a patch harness that he uses to swap his 1g ECU and DSMlink between his 2g and his 1g.

Your 1998 2g ecu is reflashable you can use free software called EVO scan very similar to ecm link so in my opinion you should sell the 1g ecu pocket the money and just use your factory ecu check out evoscan.com for more info on there software

No one does that I know of. I know I can make another one thow and it won't cost an arm and a leg.

why go through all that trouble when you could post a wtt ad on the classifieds or sell it then buy a v3 setup for 2g
