I have a 99gst that will not shift into any gear. Right now the car is at the garage and the mechanic is telling me he can not figure it out. He told me that he replaced the master cylinder which was bad, I knew that was bad since it was leaking fluid into the car and I had been replacing fluid. He told me that it is not a fact that it needs adjusting or that the slave cylinder is bad, he says that he checked that and it was fine. So i am not sure what else it could be , any help would be very appreciated since I have been without my car for the last 2 years, just put a new 2.3 stroker into it and would love to drive it. Also the clutch is new and so is the flywheel. Thanks for any kind of advice

Thanks I plan on being at the garagee tomarrow with them when he lifts the car again and at that time I will bring up the new leads that I have. He has told me himself that he is not to familiar with dsm's so this might help him. Thanks

Get rid of the clutch chamber that bolts to the trany. They discontinued it in later eclipse's. After that adjust your master cylinder's push rod clock wise until you cant push in the slave cylinder. Then turn the master cylinder push rod counter clock wise, one half a turn until you can push the slave in. Then tighten the jam nut on master cylinder push rod that will give you full throw on your clutch. That will eliminate any problem between your pedal and slave. If that don't work check your shifter cables, and bushings.

Check your Shifter cables and see if the bushing is still in the shifter. Also make sure that your bolt is in the shifter holding down when you shift.

I lost my 2/4/R 2 weeks ago because of a shifter clip and bolt.

Thanks for all the suggestions i will be trying them all until I can figure put what is wrong. I will klet everyone know what is the problem when I get it fixed. ANY FURTHER HELP IS STILL appreciated thanks

Where the shifter cable and tranny meet, try to manually engage all the gear with your hand. This will eliminate a jam tranny.

The mechanic finaly did what I had told him to and shimmed the pivot ball and that worked, but now another problem.
