hey guys some wierd thing started to happen as i left work today as the title implies... I have a 1995 eclipse GS 5-speed and it has had the CEL on for the last 5 years for the recall for TC # 36, when i got in my car i noticed my CEL went away but i really didnt think anything of it.... when i was leaving the parking lot my first attempt to accelerate was interrupted but a very rough jerking (felt like i was on a bull ride LOL) just figured that it was a bad start, pushed in the clutch and tried again and the first three times i engaged the clutch same thing happened....after i finally got moving my low bat light came on along with my CEL again buit everthing was running fine, when i come to my turn i downshift into 2nd and i notice even with the clutch pressed down and my foot off the gas the RPMs stay at around 2k... and it would happen every couple times i shifted.... never had any problems like this, i didnt get to look at anything since its 11 here but wanted to know if anyone had any idea for the morning. thanx

That could be the ISC I think, my car once did that and it started idle surging sometimes and when I was changing gears the car would "idle" at 2k, and then with gas it would rev up but would hold the rev for about 1-2 sec and then drop them. Check the plug on the screw that let's you adjust you idle speed, not the one on the throttle body(BSS i think), it's the one on the throttle cable assembly. Any other help would be good.

Why in gods name did you not get the problem fixed that was causing the initial CEL. You could have a dozen more things wrong and will never know because the light is already on. Fix the damn problem. Then worry about the new one.

Pull the codes, start there. There are many, many things that can cause your vehicle to buck, and hold a high idle between shifts.

I dont let other people work on my car.... some people think its wierd but its the way iv always done it and for the first 11 years with my eclipse not one problem ever arrose that i could not fix. the 36 TC for secondary air injector or something has to be blocked off and then have the ECU re programed if i understood correctly and i dont want the people at mitsu doing that LOL.... now to the new prob key dance brings up #31 (Purge canister/EGR solenoid circuit is open or shorted ) and #47 (Charging voltage too low too long ) thanx for the help so far

just went out to look at it i get underneath and ther alternator belt is gone.... just went out and got new one and replaced seems to be running fine now. used to get a a loud squealing noise for first 15-20 seconds on startup which has now gone away, always just thought it was a pulley, i assume it was the belt rubbing against something and finally just snapped. thanx for all the help
