wideband sensor question

okay so i already have the a/f gauge and every once in a while it will light up saying im rich blah blah blah.

so i just need to know, do i need to only buy the wideband sensor, or the whole kit?

So you just have a gage that reads lean/stoichiometric/rich hooked up to your factory gage, right? Those are worthless. That's not a wide band, and you can not use that gage with a wide band sensor. I think that's what your asking, but it's kind of tough to decipher.
 
I'm going to tack on a question here, hope I'm not stepping on anyones toes...I have a computer that stays in the car permanently with a display on the dash just for entertainment...would i be able to get the kit below which comes with a wideband O2 sensor and a datalogger to use the computer display instead of buying a wideband display unit or gauge? I was lookin at this kit...it should allow me to do this right?

This is my first post, my first dsm car (2g Talon Tsi Awd) so yeah im kind of a noob, any help is great...even if you have to tell me that I'm a total idiot, I have big shoulders, and lots to learn.
