Is this Too lean or Too rich? I don't remember how it works.
Lean means too much air? Rich means too much fuel?
Correct me on those.
This happened after I took off my turbo to check it out.
I found out my turbo has a crack on the exhaust housing...
Also found out my cv boot ripped and there's grease everywhere.
That's my luck...so far.. I did take off my downpipe and unplugged the o2 for the wideband. I put everything back together and it started up fine. But I just noticed my wideband read 16.9 - 17.3 at idle. Sucks for me.. Please HELP?!?!

Sounds okay, just means you're running a bit lean.

My idle sits around 15.5-16.0.

The crack in your housing if big enough could influence it.
Otherwise you may be running a bid lean and as long as you're running decent afr's at WOT you should be fine

But Shouldn't it be at 15.3 at idle? 17.0 is too lean right?
15.3 is how it was before I took off my turbo.

I really wouldnt worry unless you're going 18 or more.

It really isnt a big issue at idle to be a bit off

Chances are you have an exhaust leak.

Exhaust leak! Don't move your fuel trims if you have a exhaust leak from when you took your turbo off it may be letting in outside air messing with the air fuel reading check and fix all exhaust leaks before you start tuning on inaccurate afr

I have one leak but its after the Wideband sensor. Ill re tighten all the bolts.
What are the numbers I should be looking at when cruising and going wot?

You're fine. Better fuel economy if anything. As long as the car isn't acting weird driving around like stuttering and isn't lean under boost there's really nothing to worry about.

i used to idle at about 16.5:1. i installed my 272's and now its about 17.9-18.5:1 and ive had no problems with it. once i come up off the idle, it fattens up to about 14.5:1 and above 45% throttle it goes to about 11.2:1. i have no running or driveability problems.

as for how you installed the wideband, i would not recommend putting it in the o2 housing, especially if youre still on stock engine management. at warm idle, without the primary sensor, the computer wont know where to put the afr's.

Unless your STFT and LTFT-Lo are both maxed out positive, you are not actually idling that far past 14.7:1. That's the whole idea of closed loop operation. If it is reading lean at idle, you more than likely have exhaust leaks.

I didn't install it on my o2 housing. It's on my downpipe.

lower=richer
higher= leaner
hope that helps! ohh and your numbers are fine at idle, its wot and full boost that you need to be worried about

Some people are giving out the wrong info in this thread. You are perfectly fine at idle where you are at right now as you will not be sitting at 14.7 just idling like some people are trying to tell you. You should be around 14.7 while cruising and at partial throttle and when tuning for WOT it should be right around 10.5-11:1. If it really bothers you where you are sitting at idle you can add a little bit of fuel but it's still no big deal.

I guess these cars never learned to go into closed loop while idling.

I have the exact same problem as we speak. At idle my WB reads 16.5-17.0 and at a cruise it sits right at 14.8. My LTFT are at 0. The reason for this is just took apart my downpipe and the gasket at the end was shot and the one off my 02 housing is new. So im assuming that its drawing air in through there. My WB is in the stock 2nd O2 bung. Replace the gasket and you should be fine

Never had this problem before. This started happening after I took off my downpipe and reinstalled it. I re-tightened all the bolts and it still idles like this. It has a leak after the sensor and it has always been like that. This is just bugging me.
