wideband and narrowband

At first I was going to go with one of the widebands that also simulates narrowband for the ECU's sake. Is it cheaper/just as good to leave the stock front o2 and tap someplace else for the wideband? either way i need a front o2 sensor signal so that the ecu can know how to adjust fuel trims while im not at WOT, correct?
 
if you want a true signal going to your ecu, and by that i mean one that isnt edited to keep your CEL from coming on then its probly best to leave the stock one in and just and another bung for a wide band. and yes your front o2 is used during closed loop for fuel control
 
For a reason that eludes itself, to me at least, wideband O2's can't take the heat our stock narrowband is subjected to being that close to the turbo.

It's a better for the sensor to locate it further downstream on the downpipe. :thumb:
 
if you get PLX M-300, you will get BOTH wideband and narrowband readings from the same O2 sensor. that way you need only 1 bung and that's usually the stock bung.

and regarding the location of the O2 sensor, it can be somewhere near the stock O2 sensor location (if you really have to use another bung, which is not the case if you use PLX units). when we say near, we mean 'on the closer side' to the motor.
