Why is MMCD Tools doing this?

The setup I am using is the V3 cable with a Palm emulator which is working fine.
Also, I was using MMCD Tools to export and convert the logs into csv files, which was also working fine.

Now all of a sudden the csv file's are looking all jumbled up as if it were trying to squeeze everything into one cell. I've tried uninstalling MMCD Tools and Installing it again and it worked once but then it started doing it again.

Has anyone ever gone through this?

Here is a sample of the log so you can see what I mean.

Aren't all of us?

It was not scarcastic.

Support our community and the research and development that goes into ecmlink instead of using their cable and trying to pirate the program or somethin like that, if you really want a free solution, get a black box flashable ecu -97-99 and get evo scan. More support there and for ecm link rhen will ever be for your palm logger.

But would you like some chineese turbos to go with your build? Sounds like your the CX racing type.

I always wonder why some members disappear or newbie dont come back to the site. It is very ironic that support for products is being preached here, when we should actually support the guy in the first place in the discussion. It took me awhile to get ecmlink but i worked with what i had to enjoy my cars. I know theres an issue with file extension support when being converted i could have sworn i saw it on another site.

Try downloading a new install of it. The delimination is being dropped. I looked at the file, and to get it to even look somewhat like a log I had to use TAB, SPACE and"." delimination, and some numbers were still off. If you have an android, I highly recommend MMCDroid.

Quality > Quantity. I'm a broke college kid too, I managed to scurry up the funds and got ECMlink. Yes there are cheaper alternatives, but I felt like this one had the most freedom and is what I wanted. There are more options. Now if he was a programmer and came up with his own way than more power to him, but he wouldn't be here asking questions now would he.

@urbansmoker1

LOL

Really!?!

Ok, so I posted this up in hopes that someone may take a look at it and perhaps offer some helpful insight.

Did not realize that a few of you would look at posts to criticize others. Guess you got too much time on your hands.

Again most people here are very helpful and I do appreciate that, but I guess you will always have to deal with the occasional ______ lurking. :ohdamn:

Thanks to everyone that does provide help though. You guys are a great asset to this forum. :thumb:

Yea I bought the V3 cable specifically to use with the emulator program that is free, so that I could avoid buying an old Palm pilot, not to use with a pirate version of anything.

And someone on this forum was actually very helpful with that topic.

Do I feel the need to buy ECM at this moment for "support of our community and the research and development that goes into ECMlink"?!? NO!!!

Because then I would be saying that that is the only route to go with these cars which is not the case. There are other avenues you can take, which may take a bit of understanding or extra effort. Then again some people want everything the easy way.

I have an ecu+ unit which I can install and will suite my needs and expectations for my car very well, however before I take that route I want to figure out other things with the car and logs.

On another note I do appreciate the advice for the evo scan, but again I want to work with what I have and not spend on something else that I don't absolutely need.

"But would you like some chineese turbos to go with your build? Sounds like your the CX racing type."

If those Chinese turbo's are built right and will work for my combo then why not..LOL...however my stock 14b will work just fine for my setup.

Let me tell you the type of person that I am. I am the type that will put the extra effort into learning and doing something without spending much money into.

Back in the day I was going fast on a Turbo Lebaron thanks to this guy right here who pioneered the way for many on turbo's whether you know it or not. And he was quick to help anyone that needed help with a turbo setup or wanted to learn about more about setting up a turbo car. Plus he did all his R&D at home!

gus's

Where do you think the high boost stock BOV mod for 1G's came from? Or the Grainger style MBC?

Old Gus was a pioneer and showed everyone that turbo cars can be fast and fun plus you don't need to spend all that money on high tech equipment or brand name parts to get the same or better results.

But hey most of the time I don't know what I'm doing on my racing applications.

I just happen to accidently build my RX7 with a 355, 10.1 compression running on E85, 8lbs of boost from a pair of T70's, and Edelbrock Proflo System which is not for boost applications. And hey, the car is able to run 9 second 1/4 mile times, wow that must be some cheap luck or maybe some R&D on my part and others advice.

So your profile seems to say that you are not running ECMlink as it is in your wishlist, yet you want to criticize others for not running ECMlink.

Hmmm...guess its someone else with too much time on their hands as well..

ECMLINK!!

If you are not going to help with the issue than save everyone's time and refrain from posting any non-helpful advice.

Update-uninstalled and then reinstalled MMCD Tools which worked, but then when I went to convert the next log it did the same thing.

Kind of perplexing.

Seriously A MOD should just come in an take the Crap out of this thread.
If you can't at least help the OP out like thomcasey

Then just Keep your comments/Opinions to yourself...

When replying to a question in our Tech Forums:
Stay on topic - do not reply to an existing thread with a new question or topic. Start a new thread.
Do not reply to a thread with "Use the Search" - answer the question, link to the answer, or don't reply at all.
No elitist or smart ass replies to what you may consider a "dumb" question.
Explain your answer in detail. If someone is asking about which clutch is best for their application, don't just reply with "ACT 2600". Explain to them why you think the ACT 2600 is the best for their application, or link to the answer.
No Guessing - if you don't know the answer for sure, don't reply - we don't need you spreading hearsay and/or misinformation. If your reply contains phrases like "I think", or "I've heard", or "everyone else does it", or "my brother's uncle's friend did it and had no problems" - it is not useful. Only post a reply if YOU know the answer from YOUR own first-hand experience. Instead of replying with a guess, post a link to a thread where the answer can be found, or the same discussion already took place.
Use proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation/capitalization - no texting or instant messaging lingo (in our Tech Forums). It makes your post easier to read and understand, and it helps our search feature find your post. If you use Internet Explorer please download and use the "iespell" feature (spellcheck). Firefox users have it built in.

OP, Why not just Review the logs in the Emulator? What did you do differently in between having issues?

Where is that person now?

I don't think you can use the word Chinese and "built right" in the same sentence.

And last to MY1GDSM:
My bad, I didn't notice it was in tech and not the newbie. It popped up under the recent thread. I am even more disappointed now that I saw it is a tech thread. Look at the way he types. No wonder I confused it for the Newbie Forums. I thought it was another "I want to be cheap and try to get by thread by the look of it. In which we all tell people to do it once and do it right. Don't cheap out.

hmmmm...good point hadnt thought if that...oh yea thats why!!!!!....it is because I am building this car as I go and doing what I can with what I can afford at the moment....but thank you very much for the sarcastic advice it really helped out with my current issue...

Really? What is with all the "....." Make complete sentences and use correct punctuation. He can't even use an apostrophe. Maybe then, I can take his seriously. I don't get how bringing in other cars he "built" is involved in this topic nonetheless.

@urbansmoker1

Update-uninstalled and then reinstalled MMCD Tools which worked, but then when I went to convert the next log it did the same thing.

Kind of perplexing.

Can you view the file on the Palm (You should be able too), or is it"corrupted there too? Unfortunately, it may need either a CSV viewer reinstall or maybe an OS reinstall. Definitely an issue with Palms, that is why they died out. If you have an android Phone or Tablet (with bluetooth), then you can log better and wirelessly with the MMCDroid. That is what I did till I got link.

@MY1GDSM I did not do anything different on the setup. It will work fine the first time then when I try it again it will jumbleeverything together. Yea, thats what I had to resort to the last time, just viewing the logs on the emulator.

@thomcasey The files are good to go on the emulator.I think its the mmcd tools that is currupting the files. I had looked into wireless logging, but opted to do it with the V3 cable and laptop instead.

@Chris "...." is ellipsis and when you put it in a sentence you create suspense.

Just to clarify the whole "......" in my sentences. BTW this a DSM forum where people come to talk about DSM's and issue's they are having with them. Not a grammer/English forum.

For a college kid you sure are pretty ignorant!

If you really want to try and talk down to me be a man about it and do it in person. I live in Laredo TX. I am not that far away....

Do us all a favor and stay off this thread. You really are wasting people's time posting all this crap. Worst of all you just made me post a bunch of other crap that really did not need to be posted untill you came along.
