I was having a problem where my 80 amp altinator fuse was blowing and i found that the main power wire that connects from the fuse to the altinator was freyed. I repaired it and now for some reason i don't have any auxillary power. When the car is off everything else is too. No lights, seatbelts, radio, locks, nothing. I can't figure out why, please help.

The same thing happened to me. I took my alternator to have it tested and found out it was bad. Have you checked all fuses?

I checked all fuses and I have tested the altinator. The altinator is good and the fuses aren't blown i just don't seem to have power when the car is not running except for my after market gauges which are hooked up to the same power line as the radio.

A simple straightforward test for the switch is to test for continuity through the connections when you press the button. I don't have my manual in front of e so I can't say which connections to test across. Anyways, you could also test for voltage across the switch when you press the button. There should only be a small number of wires it should be easy to figure out which ones go to your passenger window. You could also attach your meter to the wires on the window motor and see if any voltage is being sent to the motor when you press the up button. If there is not voltage then you have an open somewhere that could be either the relay, a broken or disconnected wire. If there is a small voltage then there is a high resistance short circuit somewhere which means that either your wire is grounding somewhere our the wire our relay is damaged thus causing a lot of resistance in the circuit. Hope this helps.

If it was just a matter of my wondow i would be able to figure that out but its everything i don't have power to anything in the car. Domb lights, locks, radio, seat belts, nothing at all unless the car is on well with the exception of my after market gauges which are drawing from the same auxilary power wire as the radio.
