why does everybody elses 1g BOV sound so cool and mine doesnt make any sound at all?

If you want to hear your BOV, switch to a HKS SSQV. The thing is loud and has that nice little fluttering sound at low boost that everyone (except me) seems to love.

I'm thinking of swapping to a 1g BOV because I'm tired of all the flutter.

You could use a metal pipe for your recirc line. You dont need a K&N filter for the sound to come through. Only a hard intake pipe should be needed. Eliminate the stock resonance silencer stuff too. I used a stock style replacement and could still hear the turbo and BOV.

I like to hear it too cause it sounds nice, but I've heard enough ricers around here that their aftermarket BOV is louder than their loud exhaust is, and that's just retarded.

Like others have stated, an air filter, intake pipe, and turning up the boost with proper supporting mods will make you hear the BOV a lot more. Also, you could just open your widows and you'll hear it more

Who wouldn't like the sound of pressurized air being released every time you let off the throttle? Personally, I feel that would become too annoying to handle after the first 5 minutes behind the wheel.

Loud blow off valves are the stereotype of turbocharged cars. They're synonymous with ricers and they are generally what turns the head of every policeman in the area when a turbo car drives by. They don't prove anything and they have absolutely NO performance benefit....they can actually hurt performance when vented improperly.

A loud BOV is like having drag pipes on a Harley- they're extremely annoying, they draw the wrong attention, and they can make your bike run like shit if it's not tuned for open exhaust....yet every Harley owner has to have them.

Why do a lot of you guys troll(that's what DSM Forums: Eclipse, Laser and Eagle Talon Forum: DSMtalk.com is for). He didn't ask if the bov is considerd ricey or if its an attraction to cops. He asked why his BOV doesn't sound like the rest.

Get a hard intake pipe and decent air filter and the effect of the BOV will be greater.

By the way... I'd like you to say that harleys sound like shit to a real biker. Better get use to lying on your back

The sound of the BOV is one of the sounds that separate us form na cars, its no surprise that people want this sound louder, DSM were not blessed with stock atmosphric BOV's, I dont agree with people just taking off the hose and plugging the intake hole, when its time you should get a GM MAF and MAFT so you can run an atmophric , I love the sound of the BOV and its not ricey at All !


Oh and dont crush if your on stock boost, and look up the right way to crush it its a little more complicated then just smashing it

I agree. I love the sound of the turbo, airintake and the bov. Does that mean muscle car owners are ricers as well because they enjoy their sound?

The only bov your going to hear, while recirculating is a SSQV. I've ran the Greedy TypeS and you don't hear it until your hitting high boost, and thats only if your listening for it. BOV's aren't made to sound cool. They are made to relieve the pressure.

So do the intake mods and you might get some sound out of it. Otherwise enjoy not hearing a thing. Sometimes it does get annoying, Esp with the loud BOV's. I enjoyed the sound my Crushed 1g put out over my SSQV.
