I'm disgusted in some of your responses. It's the government's fault? Why should some else pay for your amusement? Blaming the driver is not going to help either. Maybe he is a 20 yr old kid with a suspended license. That only makes him equally guilty as the rest of the 50 out there. If the 2 cars wouldn't have street race, then the driver of the Crown Vic would have seen the crowd. If the Crown Vic stopped when he saw the smoke he wouldn't have hit the crowd. If the crowd wasn't in the road, then no one would have gotten hurt. If someone gave them a free track to race on, then they wouldn't have been on the street. If the police endorsed this event as legalized "street racing", then no one would be acting stupid.
If this, if that. I stopped street racing a VERY long time ago, because of a similar event, that I had no involvement in. There are MANY MANY tracks in the DC area (near where this happened). As said before, some open next week. But these people, didn't care. They don't care about the law, and they don't care about the well being of others. This theory is proven by the death of these 8 people. People need to grow up and take responsibility. Those who died, did so on their own accord.
