Why did the P.O. do this

I have a somewhat stock 90 GSX. It is manual, but has the automatic 13g turbo on it :/ Why that is I have no clue. Also it has an SAFC which I am leaning towards removing as I will be getting a DSMlink in the near future. The vehicle sat for sometime so I did the routine tune up before anything. I'm just having trouble with the car now as I get into boost it breaks up badly.

I would gladly sell it to you. I worked with the p.o. I was his manager. The engine that is in it now is the 3rd engine. I believe the turbo was blown and he picked up the 13g or the turbo off an automatic turbo 1g cheap so he put it on. I'm just trying to wrap my head around why the thing is breaking up as soon as it enters boost with this tiny turbo LOL.

LOL pm me a price! but ya what exactly do you mean breaking up, is it sputtering, not spooling? is it not getting enough fuel?

The 14b came on 1g manual cars and the 13g was on the 1g autos. What is "P.O.", I was waiting for you to talk about a police officer but nothing.

Sitting over time things will deteriorate, bugs/animials will get to parts etc. Do a boost leak test to make sure everything is fine, check your plugs (0.028 gap) and wires too.

Did a complete tune up and plugs were gaped at .028 p.o. is previous owner. I will check for boost leaks. As for breaking up as soon as boost begins the car falls flat on its face and sounds as if it has a misfire (sputtering). I'm going to remove the SAFC and check for boost leaks now. I will get back with results.

ya check those leaks, and as far as falling on its face sounds like fuel cut, which is wierd, but check for fuel leaks

I checked and found no leaks, removed the SAFC, and for shits and giggles the maf plug. No change at all. The car did idle better after I removed the BISS all the way though. Normal speed it sort of hesitates but as soon as it builds boost the tone changes almost as if the a/f is off. I have the battery removed now as I'm going to try and reset the ECU. On a side note: no BCS connected or any solenoids on driver side firewall for that matter.

Edit: Looking now more towards timing issue. Just thought of it now. I ran into the same problem with my VR6 turned out to be the cam sensor. I'm going back out to check time. Once again overlooking the small things. Thanks for all your quick replys. I really appreciate it!!

Update: Checked timing came out perfect. I then took the car out it boosted fine the first run then went back to breaking up. It seems to be intermittent. Also from what I can hear/understand the car has either a walbro 190 or 255 fuel pump. What do some people do to these cars?? I'm going to go over the vehicle completely. Looks like my FP mani, new turbo, injectors, intake mani, and other goodies are going on ahead of schedule :/
