who has "Mitsubishi" on their valve cover?

the engine that came out of my '93 NT just said "16 VALVE" on the firewall side. But the ### 6-bolt i'm putting in, says "Mitsubishi" on it (I actually have two...long story).

Was this just a difference between years or a difference between the US and ### versions? My new one also comes with no EGR and a block-off plate over it!

My 92 (1GB) Talon ES (non-Turbo 4G63) came with a valve cover in the standard silver w/ red lettering, and reads -

Mitsubishi (with the symbol before it) - on the firewall side
DOHC 16valve - on the rad side

So this is not the stock cover?

my brother's n/t 92 talon has that same VC: "Mitsubishi" on the firewall side and "DOHC 16 Valve" on the rad side. i doubt thats the stock VC though.

I'd like to get a definitive answer as to what valve covers (colors and/or the mark) come from what makes and models. In the article above, it states that all red top valve covers came from the Galant VR4's and that Titanium colored VC's are from EVO 1-3's. I'm guessing that the bronze'ish colored VC that I have could be considered a titanium colored VC and that the "other 4G63 models" that came with silver VC's are from the RVR. I'm going to do a bit more research on the RVR to confirm this. I think it's also safe to say that all US DSM's came with a VC without ANY Mitsubishi markings on it.

^ That kind with no beside it. The VC on my 89 gt is a titanium color with red letters, but iv'e also seen them as colored aboved on CSM's. I think the only usdm DOHC 4g variant with the and mitsubishi on the firewall side are the Galant VR4's. Every GS,GSX,and even the rarer GSR galant's that iv'e seen have the non "mitsubishi" VC.

That's EXACTLY what my VC and spark plug cover look like. Hmmm... now I'm curious as to if my "junkyard" engine that I KNOW is not the original motor is, in fact, an EVO motor. The turbo, and injectors that it came with suggest that it's not, but I'm still curious if it is...

Also, I've noticed that some 2g intake manifolds say ECI MULTI on them, and others (like the one pictured in the quoted post) do not. What is the difference in these? (Maybe this would be better suited in a different post).

the intake on my 1990 GSX says ECI MULTI, so i would imagine that these manifolds are from a 1g.

Only Mitsu Eclipses and Galants said Mitsubishi on them.

All others, i.e. Talon, Lasers, just said DOHC 2000 (no Mitsu signage)

Hyundais obviously said something else but can't remember what.

It really is that simple... No need to worry bout JDM/USDM 6 bolt, 7 bolt etc... It's Chrysler car or Mitsu car.

Another question then for the experts on this topic: I notice that some cover's breather tube is either straight out, or take a 90* bend towards the firewall.

Which is who's then - who's motor compartment was designed for which breather tube?

(mine, being the "Mitz DOHC 16valve" titanium colored cover, has the breather tube heading towards the firewall..)
