Won't you have to recalibrate your gauges.

and you can never get it done right. Taking them off and outing them in the same spotdpes not work. i got a ticket case of the same thing. Was in a freinds car. Gauges said 35 mps,and I was doing 43. I got nailed with a ticket

I put mine back in the same spot they were sitting when i took them off (made a mark w/ a sharpie). I know mine are right on, i even checked my speedometer with a portable magellan GPS, and i was +-2mph the whole time.

If you do a good job of marking the position they were in before removal, you shouldnbt have a problem.

What happens if you just took off your needles then put them back on. Like some people.

you start your car. remember where it idles at, then put that needle where it should point to, remove and put back if you dont get it right.

then drive the car with the plastic cover off, drive to 2K RPMS with the car in second gear then put speedo at 20 MPH.

anything else. Your fawked (as stated in my how-to)

temp. let car heat up to normal, then put it where it should be.
boost, replace boost gauge.
Oil, replace oil gauge.

I have the following Cobalt gauges:

5" tach w/ shift light
nitrous pressure
air/fuel
boost/vacuum
EGT

So it looks like I'll be adding these to the list:

bOOstd GSX, what are you going to do w/ the cobalt gauges. Where you gonna put them? you gonna just not use your stock cluster or something. Seems like an expensive idea for something that still won't look as good as clean indiglos from a place like speedhut, then leds to light the needles. I can see if you want to do something different though.

Also, Why does everyone have the reverse indiglos from Ebay, they look :barf: IMO
There WAY to busy w/ the color coordination of a four year old.
I just dont like the indiglo green mixed w/ red and then blue. Maybe just me though

First I'm going to look into getting my factory needles recalibrated, if that doesn't work/is too expensive, then i'm just going to replace all of my gauges with the rest of the cobalt gauges.

I'm putting the boost/egt/nitrous gauge on the pillar with the triple pillar pod I have.

I'm putting the air/fuel gauge in the cigarette lighter location.

I'm putting the speedo/tach/oil in the dash.

Should look pretty good IMO.

Here is what I did to my center console:

Paying for Gauges recalibrated!!, you guys making things up???

I pulled ALL of my needles when I did this w/ no markings, put them back on, everything matches up perfect to this day.

I just remebered where they were resting or were they go when you put the car to the on position etc.
put the gauges in but leave the plastic off to make sure and you can make changes.
If i rember right my boost gauge went halfway up when the key was turned to on, not the car itself ..done, Tach I put where it was resting and is right on. Speed was the only one that i had to move around but seemed to match up right on the first time which was later confirmed w/ my logger. I think i just put oil to its normal resting place and when the car started it would got to normal range etc. same with coolant temp.

Hell using markings would make it even easier.

thats exactly what i did. Yes, markings make it much easier. Boosted, i think you are worrying too much, just slap em back on and make any simple adjustments if need be.

That's why I got these:

Nice & clean. It can change from green to blue, doesn't have that nasty BIG BOLD glowing ring right in the center.

fill your gas tank, and wait for your car to warm up, then put the fuel and temp needles on.
while car is idling put the rpm needle at 1k and the speedo at 0. DONT PAY to have them done...

AHHH! ok ok, im screwed! my needles are all messed up, i cant recalibrate them! I dont know how, someone please explain in detail

......Could you be anymore vague??

wut the hell do u want me to do explain in detail wut's already on the post above??
it didnt' work, i tryed it and it didn't work, i still have the same problem

Hahahaha,.

Too funny, your 'problem' wasnt even explained.

it dont work.

how did you mess them up? did you follow directions?

you need to learn that if you want help you need to be detailed because no one can just guess at how to fix whatever prob your having.

What hes asking is what gauges are not working? Are they moving and you can't get them right or what? You can plug the whole panel back in with the plastic off. Then you can move the needles to where they should be WHILE DRIVING AROUND AND IDLEING!!

Remebered around where you idle at ?? Done

Your temp needle usually go in the middle when car is warm or whever else you remeber??, Done

Speedo I just kinda placed on what felt like 25mph in my neighborhood, got it PERFECT
Try at 0 w/ car on, drive next to a friend at exactly 20 or something if you don't feel confident "feeling out" your speed.

oil pressure may be in the middle for you, either that or the boost gauge went halfway up when the key was inserted but NOT turned on in my TSi. Drive around and check them out.

Seems like many times you just place them at their "resting place" and they autimatically line right up when the car is started.
I would go into more detail but I did this back late last year sometime, actually once for me and once for a buddy. Takes 10 minutes,,, though marks in the future may be a better idea. I guess i like to make it hard though OMG

I'll second that

ok i took off the gauges to sand the orange film off, and i had to take off the needles of course, then after i finished i reinstalled everything, and the needles on the temp and gas worked but the rpm's were around 2 or 3 and the speedometer was at about 20, so i took the needles off and did it again, then the rpm's were idle at around 4 to 6 at diff times. so i tried messin with them like jumpin the stopper and winding them anything i could think of, i've tried every method i've seen on the site, i can't get them to work right.

Just move it while in the car w/ the plastic off. it works.

as in take the needle of and put it on 20 when im goin 20 or just move it up to 20, and i tried to do that with the rpms, but while revving in neutral, i'll try it while driving tho
