so i was driving my car today going to school. got on the expressway for about 2-3 miles and then i lost power and the engine turned off. i pulled over to the side and tried to start and nothing. i saw white smoke coming out of the middle air vents and from the center console near the shifter. smelled like something burned bad. got off to scheck everything seemed fine. . it cranks and cranks but no go.
i really dont know what it is.. i think i fried the ecu but i dont know how.. maybe a short. right now i have it at a mechanics shop since i didnt have anytime to look at it./ what could it be. i had a cel of p1400 generator . but i havent pulled any codes from it after the incident. i just want to rebuild the whole thing and waste a crap load of money but im not sure yet. maybe i am making a big deal from nothing. hope you can help have to study for a test tomorrow. thanks in advance

Somehow that seems odd. Sure, if the pump is not coming on due to it being electrically/mechanically damaged/wore out sure. But I feel like the smoke coming from the dash is telling a different story. If someone was able explain to me how a fuel pump would cause smoke from the dash, I would be greatly interested
