Just put in a evo III ported manifold, mits. 16G turbo (slightly used), TurboXS MBC, Autometer BG, 2.5 inch o2 elimintator and downpipe. When turbo spools up I get a whistling sound and all lines and pipes disturbed are tight. An earlier article mentioned his turbo going out after it whistled for a few months. Any suggestions for troubleshooting? :dsm:

Well usually a whistle means a boost leak, and I would check your intake manifold gasket or you may even have a slight crack in your intake. Is your car running richer, and with a hard time holding a boost pressure?

Sounds like a boost leak, do a pressure test to find the source of the leak and fix it! Then you will be back up to speed ;)!

You'd be suprised by how many things that LOOK like they won't leak, do. Test it.

I had a similar problem, and found that the used 1G BOV I installed was leaking by pretty bad. The excess air it was dumping back into the intake was causing the whistling sound through the air filter. You can check your BOV by disconnecting the return line to the intake when you do your leak check, and seeing how much it's venting off.
