Whirring noise when starting car

Ok well I just had a 6 bolt swapped into my 2g talon and since i needed a 6 bolt flywheel i bought the ACT streetlite flywheel. Now when i start the car it makes like this quick whirring noise then the car starts perfectly fine and runs normal. Is this typical with a lightened flywheel? It sounds almost like the starter is spinning the flywheel really fast.

Is it an electrical whirring? How old is your starter?

I have an ACT Streetlite flywheel and it sounds the same as any other DSM when it starts.

No its like a mechanical, almost like the motor is spinning super fast. As far as i know the start is the original 125k on the clock. also when i am driving if i get up to about 3k rpms the motor makes a weird whirring noise and if i hold it at 3k the sound doesnt go away. Sound like a starter issue?

If it is the same sound at 3k rpm, I doubt it's the starter that's the problem. Though my starter clicks/grinds at startup and that was before I put a Fidanza in my car.

Sounds like your starter is on its way out and not engaging the flywheel when you hit the key. It'll spin but wont make contact with the flywheel on occasion correct?

No it always catches the flywheel actually. Im actually going to go and make a video of it and post it back here in about 10-15 minutes.

Ok you have to listen closely to the video cause my camera sucks at catching sound. But when i start it you can hear it sounds funny and you wont really notice the whirring sound on the first part of my driving but wait till you see the dash for the 2nd time and listen when i stick the camera out the window, you can hear it when im decellerating.
