Ok so i just got back from school and the dsm has been sitting for about 2 months. When i went to start it for the first time, there was a metal clunking sound going on around where my feet are. It only happens when i am starting the car. Also when i make left turns sometimes it sounds like a clicking axle, but i just replaced the left axle so im thinking this is part of the clunking problem. The car drives like any regular car once i am actually driving. It is only when im starting the car. Any ideas?

Thanks:dsm:

I get similar issues on cold starts and I've isolated it to the motor moving around a bunch on the stock mounts. I'd have a friend start the car and see if you can isolate the noise but that where my startup knock seems to come from. I also have a motor that moves a great deal at idle due to my cam settings and that doesn't seem to help motor mount wear. I'd take a good look at them and make sure that everything's tight and also check to see if they're torn.

Let us know what you find. Knock on!

Andy
