whining after 16g install

Ok well I installed my small 16g and now I have this bad whining sound as soon as boost starts. One thing I do know is that one of the bolts broke off that connects the turbo to the O2 housing. Im not sure if that causes the noise or not. It kind of sounds exactly like a supercharger. Every once in a while it sounds like it is hitting like a rag or fabric or something. Heh...I know that sounds funny but that's the only way I know how to describe it. After I let off and hit boost again, it just goes back to the "normal" whining noise.

Now I did a search for whining noise and I got everything from a boost leak, a dead turbo, or a leaky gasket. Now the turbo does boost fine and hold boost, but it doesnt seem nearly as quick as when it was on my GSX with close to the same mods. It doesnt have the kick in the pants type feeling anymore. It feels as fast as my 13g@16psi with the 16g@12psi. So there has to be something wrong but I dont think it is a boost leak since I can hold boost. Any suggestions guys? The car runs/drives fine...it's just the sound is a little annoying and Im hoping it isnt something too bad. Thanks.

ts funny you posted this.. i wish i could help you but I am havin the same problem. I just did a 14b swap on my 2g and it does the same thing urs does. Ive checked it for leaks, shaftplay and everything and nothings seems to be wrong so i have no idea either..

Not sure if this will help, but I had a boost leak and it sounded exactly like a supercharger, even at low rpms to. Check to see if you have any boosk leaks?

I did the short rount intercooler piping for my B16G yesterday and started it up . acted fine so i took it out got on it in first and little to no boost i knew right away boost leak although this one was silent soo DO a leak test. I did one last night and i had a huge leak just off the intercooler. fixed it and boosts great. and my 16G sounds like a plane kinda I love it .,
