2G Which wire goes where on starter

I have a 96 gst the starter is on the car, I need to know which post on it is neg/pos . I have the haynes manual I didnt understand their picture, will some please help?

I have a 97 and I replaced my starter today.

MY negative was on one of the two bolts that held the starter in place. The top bolt, with washers. The outer most bolt on the back (towards firewall) was my POS. and it was covered by a red rubber cover. The oposite side had a black wire and it led to the starter. There was a small wire also, it was the only connector.

Cool thanks but now i turn the key and nothing happens at the starter or at the fuel pump. If I run a +12 volts to the starter switch it spins motor over that way but thats it! I have checked all fuses and connections the car sat 3 years could the anit theft be causing problems

Thanks everyone, I got it fixed!!!! I confused the cruise/clutch switch for the clutch/start switch which the pedal was missing the rubber stopper. All that work and the fuel pump is dead whats next
