Alright so ive been lookin at alot of options lately on what i want to do with my 91 plymouth laser. Its the n/a 2.0 dohc and please before you tell me to just sell it and get a stock turbo'd dsm thats not what i want to do. i want to keep mine because personally i like the fwd better than awd and also i like the condition mine is in. so ive had two ideas, my first is to stay n/a. was to take my block to a machine shop get it bored .020 over and get a 2.3 stroker kit. 100mm crankshaft, 87mm 10 or 10.5:1 compression pistons, new intake mani, fuel rail, thinkin 450cc injectors, 190lph fuel pump, new headers and full exhaust, 272 cams and adjustable cam gears and possibly port and polished head and 3 angle valve job. My second option is to turbo it. obviously new intake and exhaust mani, ###### 750cc injectors, fmic, thinkin a smaller turbo to spool faster and not huge psi, then obviously turbo ecu and stuff, knock sensor, cams, all that other stuff, lower compression pistons. im leaning more towards the stroker and n/a build because you dont have all the heat and maintnence issues you have with a turbo, i would have a rebuilt engine goin with the stroker kit, and of course turbo puts quite a bit more strain on the engine, im not goin to the drag strip with this, just a dd with enough power to have fun with. lemme know any ideas, suggestions, better power to money ratio on the two builds, reliability. and how cheap you think i could do the stroker build, i already know the general cost of the turbo build, all criticism is appreciated thanks.

Ok but also goin with closer to 10:1 compression pistons, head and valve work, headers, exhaust, intake mani, cams, cam gears, injectors, fuel pump, fuel rail, and tune it right, and it should come out over 200 pretty easily not to mention with the right gasket work and arp's i could hook up some nitrous and run a 150 shot

You are at about 2500-3000 dollars worth of parts and machine work right there with all that. You can get a running turbo engine with turbo, transmission, wiring harness, ecu for under a grand. I am not trying to argue with you, i am only from speaking from years and years of experience with these cars. For the money, n/a is the wrong way to go every time.

One of the vendors I think map just had a add here on tuners
for building the 420a motor my want to check them out and get an idea what it would cost ya. Then decide an building your n/a or going turbo
.02

1g non turbo's have either a 1.8 sohc or a 2.0 n/t 4g63.

i know im sorry i wasnt trying to argue either and i realized it would be alot more spendy going n/a but if i could find a turbo engine, ecu, and everything else besides the tranny for a thousand or less than ill deffinetely go that route

NOOOOO NA build LOL. I was into honda's before i wised up and bought a dsm ;) but all motor cars aren't near as fun as a boosted car. A friend of mine had a fully built all motor k20a in an eg, and it ran good for what it was, but was nothing compared to what a boosted k would be. And an all motor dsm would never touch an all motor k. so go boost. you'll be happier with the results, i promise.

I think i want to go boosted the only problem is if i do i wanna be able to find everything i need for under a thousand either from a parts car or somehow a full kit? any suggestions or links would be appreciated

Just check craigslist and the classifieds on here all the time. Remember, you'll have more than a grand wrapped up in an all motor build. So glad to see youre going boost =]
