First, I would like to say that I never wanted to upgrade my turbo until I had all my supporting mods done.
But life and opportunities get in the way and now my plans have changed….

It all started when thru a friend, I was able to purchase an Evo III Intake Mani and Tb :p.
Before I could installed them I came across an FP Exhaust Manifold for $145 shipped.
Then I was like…. “why not upgrade the O2 housing while I’m there”? :aha:
Finally, I came across another good opportunity and bought an FP 18G.

So, now I have all these parts ready to go.
As you can see I have No fuel upgrades and No FMIC.

I do not have enough money  to do all the upgrades and turn the boost up (20 PSI).
I know! I need a MBC too.
So, I have almost enough money for 1 more upgrade.

Which way would you go? This is more of personal opinion. :hmm:

1.) Would you buy, Injectors, 255lph, AFPR and MBC? Set boost around 15 PSI
and wait until FMIC can be upgrade later on. (Summer in Florida? Aaggh !!)

Or

2.) Would you upgrade to a FMIC (VRSP 2G), I already have a MAF T and 3” Sensor.
I would have to buy a new BOV (Tial Q) and new Intake (FP) and Filter. (This is my personal preference)

What would you do?
Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

(Currents mods are under profile)

I would go with the fuel modifications for your turbo, the sidemount will be ok as long as you don't do multiple pulls in a row. But in addition to those upgrades you will need some sort of tuning software. If i were you i would get some sort of tuning set up before anything.

Edit: I saw your profile, you have a flashable ecu set up? So if you have all the tuning/logging capabilities upgrade your fuel and slowly raise boost. When the intake temps get too high you know you're at your limit and its time for a front mount

He's familiar with flashing and has wideband, so fuel injectors, pump, AFPR, and MBC.

Okay great, I was kinda leaning that way... See, I would like to enjoy my turbo, you know? I was just concerned about not been able to upgrade to a FMIC before the summer and I don't want to push the stock one.

You should update your mod list when you have installed your 18g, IMO I wouldn't mess with the intercooler yet til you have proper fuel support, if you barely have enough money for 1 mod, I would get a bigger fuel pump maybe a 190 or 255, if you install the 18g without proper fuel, you're asking for detonation (lean) :nono:

should get AFPR after the pump then injectors, but that's me :D

Well thank you all for your input and help. :thumb:
I'll update the thread once I get everything installed.

I'm going to give the stock intercooler a good clean until I install the FMIC.

Thanks again,

I'd go with injectors, MBC, rewired 190lph fuel pump, leave the fuel pressure regulator stock, and use that money to buy an alcohol/methanol/water injection kit. most people with a street tune do not have setups that outflow a 190lph fuel pump and alcohol/methanol/water injection will help suppress knock and keep your timing advanced while still running the stock SMIC.

Interesting!, I actually have a friend who has an extra kit and would give it to me for $100.
Something to think about I guess. I know that the stock regulator will do just fine with the 190lph pump.
Plus, my ultimate goal is to run between 20-25 PSI.
I don't think I will update my FP18g either.... at least not for a very long time.
Thanks for the advise. :thumb:
