so basically i bought my car as a shell and it came with a big 16 g on it. and in the trunk came a new manifold and xspower to4e. i read a review that someone did on the xspower turbo and he said it was good but the manifold was shit, i do not know what brand the manifold is but i plan on using it.

basically 2 options:

big16g

TO4E

????

thanks for ALL help

Thats wierd. Usually the manifolds work pretty well and the turbos suck. Since you have the turbo it could be a good test to see how well it works. I would through in on just to see what it can do. Then give us a review on it.

i was thinking about the review thing cause shit it was free. but i also dont want the turbo affecting anything else.

on the build we pulled the motor and there is no piston, and the balance shaft is working its way out of the block pictures are coming.

also i found an ACT flywheel, along with ACt clutch kit.
in the head i found, HKS cam gears, roller rockers, and cower springs and retainers!

(for those who dont know i bought this gst blown, with everything in mods list for $1900.)

i also will be needing to replace the clutch and i dont know how much hp this thing will be putting out, could someone with similar mods guesstimate? i think ill be going with ACT just not sure which one.

thanks

I think a little more info would help here.... like What are you building the car for? ie: dd or track? What size/trim is the T04e; is it a hybrid t3/t4? generally speaking, with the 16g, you will get faster spool, and better response. With the T04e, it will take longer to spool, however when boost comes in, it will come in much stronger, and it is capable of more power overall. in the end, it depends on what you are looking for in your car. As far as xspower is concerned, they are hit or miss. Some people have had great success with their turbos, other people have had multiple issues. worst case scenario, you have to rebuild the t04e with new garret internals. just my 2 cents.

I did read. I apologize for missing the part where he said "daily".... please forgive me..... now go have a cookie and be merry. It doesnt look like he has made a decision about the turbo yet, just the clutch..... nope he hasn't. Also, please correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the 16g about maxed out at 400whp?

300whp is the goal of most people with 16g turbos. You can definitely achieve more, but the cost of that is huge and it would be cheaper to get a bigger turbo to begin with.

If you are shooting for around 300, an ACT 2100 will be fine. Pedal pressure is near stock and it'll hold well into the 300s.

im not limiting my car to the "daily" status i will most likely see some small autox events, more of a weekend warrior all week haha. i have a truck so im not worried about down time :sneaky:.

my initial plan is to use the t04E, which is a hybrid T3/T4 (sorry forgot to mention), i want to see how well it works and will also be able to review it. if it turns to be junk i can slap the 16g back on and rebuild it and make it good.

i like the "now go have a cookie and be merry":tease:
play nice

I hope the t3/t4 works out for you. i love my 50 trim. Boost comes in strong, like a rocket ship. :) You should be able to hit around 300hp at 15 psi. Let us know how it goes.

I have the ACT 2600 with the disc and i love it. No chatter, grabs strong. Great Piece

just ordered the ACT MaXX Xtreme Street Clutch Kit:rocks:, from extreme psi. didnt say "2600" but im pretty sure thats what it is

^^theres the link^^ i got the Maxx Extreme to get a powerful clutch i dont want it wearing out after only a little while,i can deal with some extra pedal pressure.

also with valves i have no idea whats good and the deal on the sizes so help would be awsome.
thanks

Ive never even heard of that clutch but it says it will handle 490lbtq. May be a heavy pressure plate and need some leg work. I would have gone with a 2600 with a 4 or 6 puck unsprung. They are really not that hard to drive at all and once broken in they are fine.
