Which turbine housing?

So I bought this turbo from a guy here on tuners. I was told this turbo was a big16g with 14b turbine housing. I showed my friend the turbo and he said the housing was not from a 14b because there was no groove for the fire ring. Just want to know what you guys think. Thanks

Well I'm not to happy about that. I'm trying to sell it because I want to go bigger or buy a e3 16g. Take a look at the compressor, is this Chinese also?

Even if its s chinease turbine housing..It appears to have been ported and blended.Throw up a pic of the wg flapper arm on the inside.If its thin its ebay, a thick arm is mhi.

My china turbine housing looked nothing like that new..But when i was done it sure did.

Id use it.Doesnt look sketchy at all to me. The comp housing is mhi,the comp wheel appears to be a 16g.

I measured it and it came to 6cm, when I bought the car I was givin a evo 3 exhaust manifold, so I'm kind of in a pickle

That wouldn't be a problem running a 7cm manifold with 6cm housing? Remember I'm a newbie...

No you're not.

A 6cm2 (measurement of area) housing has a 52mm inlet....a 7cm2 (again, a measurement of area) housing has a 60mm inlet.

Okay thank you, I have a long way until my car will be running. I have one more question I've been meaning to ask, would more damage me done to a stock tranny with a 16g or a 20g? Would the quick spool of a 16g hurt it more than a 20?

Your transmission doesn't care what turbo you're using. You'll hurt it more using the improper fluid or missing shifts than the damage done by your turbo.

Serial number is for an MHI Big 16G, the turbine housing looks to be an Evo 3. Maybe one from china as mentioned before but hard to tell from that pic. Either way it should match up with the Evo 3 exhaust manifold.
