Trying to nail down which size gm maf i will need for my build. Hp goal is 540 fwhp. Will the 3" flow enough air? I'm going to the part yard soon and would like to get the right one. I realize there are many mentions of gm mafs in the forums but can't find if anyone has hit a limit b/c of a small gm maf.

ECMLink says the limit is around 80lb/min for the 3" and 92lb/min for the 3.5" GM MAF. That's theoretical, but I've seen guys on the ECMLink forums log 70lb/min with a 3" MAF and the signal didn't look choppy. I've personally only tuned one to 380whp, so I can't really comment on tuning issues from flowing more than that. But from what I've read good tuners don't seem to have any trouble with either MAF at that power level.

Thank you.
