I need to lower my 99 RS. But I dont want to lower it alot. I live in Detroit and the roads are the worst. So which kind of springs are good: B&G, eibach prokit, H&R, TEIN S, or any other kind. Another quick question. When do I need cambers??? if I lower it an inch or 1.5" max, do I still need to change the cambers? Back?front?or both??Thanks all for help...

Come on guys, I know alot of you know about springs. So plz alittle help.....

What up pimp??? If you are worried about the bad road conditions i would advise getting more than just springs. I know that your car is farely new but springs dont absorb shock or bumps caused by bad road conditions. And not to sound sarcastic or rude but your SHOCKS do that homie!!! And most spring will work at lowering you car nicely but with certain brands you might eventually get a sqeak or loose spring rate integrity. Thats most of the issues that you would get from springs. But that is the beauty of a captalistc society, you have the right to choose which on you want. I guess if you had an AWD i would say just get springs because AWD suspension is a little stiffer than the FWD suspension. But to finally answer your question, I suggest full coilover like tein SS, or type flex or some type of dull suspension. Because this way when you get a spring shock combo, they are tuned to work together. Remember you already have 1 strike against you, that is the streets are rough, so be nice and take care of you baby!!!! Good Luck and Peace!!!!!! :talon:

The Tein's are tight as hell..But the Eibach Pro's are nice as well...I'd choose between those too..it's really what your lookin for...I'd go with the pro's, that's just me tho...dan

I just bought the eibach pro-kit, haven't installed them yet, but believe me, I asked the same questions and did a lot of research through forums and reviews. Bottom line is, they are the most popular, most liked, and not expensive. I paid $210 new and shipped from ebay (I still have my chart of suspension/brakes/"stage 1" upgrades somewhere on my computer with about 15 vendors and their prices if you care to see, yea i'm a freak when it comes to saving a little money, i'm not rich, but want the best for my car). I was told either the pro-kit or proline, but most complained that proline was a rougher ride and lowered the car TOO much, making it a PITA to drive majority of times. But then again, that's just my 2 cents. I'll find out in 2 days when i'm done with my engine swap...

I've got eibach pro-kit with tokico illumina struts on my Spyder and I love them. I've had them for about a year now and NO complaints. The ride is just as good as stock (if thats condidered good).

I've been looking as well. The pro-kits have a proportionately higher spring rate in front, making the car want to understeer more, no? Someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'm also considering the Tanabe GF210's, along with the Tein S-tech's and the H&R Sports and OE Sports.

Yeah, your tires will wear faster if you don't get a camber kit. It won't be horribly out of spec though.

Guys, don’t keep repeating this. Camber doesn’t increase tire wear. Toe does. Toe and camber together even more so. Fix your camber to optimize handling. Fix it to factory spec. if it makes you feel good, but don’t fix it for tire wear.

When you get your wheels aligned after lowering, which should be done as soon as possible, try to find a place that will align camber and toe to your specifications not factory settings.

I'm using Spring Springs on Illumina struts, and I love the combination. I definitely had to go with camber kits, but the ride is just right...not to soft, and not too rigid. Even with the Illuminas at various settings the springs still perform great.

Like dlh said above I also went with the sprint springs and am considering picking up a set of KYB agx's the adjustable ones.. havent tried the combo out yet, but the springs at a 2"drop look great. The springs cost about 115 from Ptuning.com and I am going to pick up the KYB's on ebay for 275. :dsm: :thumb:

Any one tried the S.Techs yet for a 1G? Been trying to figure out if thats the route i wanna go matched with a set of KYB AGX's. If not i was gonna go with either sportline or prokits on the KYB's :talon:

so those of you who have the Sprint Springs....how would you say they are...i was considering the H&R Race Springs, but after hearing some positive things in this post and looking at the price of the sprint springs...im left wondering about them.

thanks

Like I said above, my experience with Sprint Springs is great...they ride very comfortably, and with the Illuminas the ride is soft enough to be comfortable, but stiff enough to perform. Even with the Illuminas on different settings the springs are still a really nice ride.
