I just got new lowering springs and i have no idea on how to install them. Its for a 1997 gst, i really havent found any good threads going threw the install process. The springs lower the car 1.3front and 1.5back. Any help would be much appreciated.

Go to autozone or any of your local autoparts store and borrow a spring compressor, every thing else is common sense, vfaq should also have a thread on suspension for a 2g

Can we really borrow a spring compressor from our local parts store or autozone?

Harbor Freight sells them for $12 and they are very good quality too. The ones I rented from Autozone and Kragen are those that need to be placed inside the coils to work.

The one from Harbor Freight comes as a pair that clamps on the outside so there's space for the struts in the inside.

I highly recommend air tools. To do the install, all you need really are: a jack, jackstands, a 14 and 17mm sockets and the spring compressor. I also recommend a bottle jack to reinstall the back struts. You'll know what Im talking about when you get there.

You're putting some on too, huh Anthony? ;)

Will the car be sitting around, or will it be a DD? Not a modification I would particularly recommend during this season.
