Which intercooler goes best with an 14b?

I know many guys running a 14b with fmic. It can only help. Keeps the air cooler. Helps with heat soak.

I knew somebody running a 14b with a huge 3.5" thick like monster intercooler from ebay. He didn't really have a problem. I think some of it has to do with how well your 14b is performing. but I'm my honest opinion i would not run that big of an intercooler with a 14b but i would definitely suggest a decent fmic. shit Mazda protagays run a fmic. there small but people upgrade them before they upgrade that small t25 that they run. correct me if I'm wrong but i remember reading car and driver and i think it said they were running a t25.

There is nothing wrong with running a fmic with a 14b

That is correct and so do the mazda mx-5. They used to come factory on Starion's. You wont need a HUGE front mount like the one in the pic. But why go small now.

i run a 14b with a greddy fmic it's not a huge one but it's nice i like it.

I'm running a Conquest TSi/Starion FMIC and it seems to be very well suited for the 14B. Only reason being is it's not too large for noticable pressure drop and it's the cheapest (mine was free from my old Star/quest) and it's an oem extruded tube and fin setup. i did some testin with my hand after hard driving and, at the inlet @15 psi it is WARM! at about 1/4 of the way it was cool, just my .02 cents though.

darn i was wrong. i knew it was 12 something. anyways while speaking about fmic's i was thinking about buying one off of ebay. i know a few people that are running the huge 3.5 and 4" thick ones. its amazing they work real well. and there so cheap for the size. does anyone have any bad stories about them besides trying to get them to fit?
