OK long story short, I got a 6bolt motor with 50K on it. Tore everything apart and put new Gaskets Seals and everything,,, Left the Crank and rods alone. As the motor came out of a running car that was donated to me. Ive removed the Balace shafts, I have the Arp Headstuds and a Cometic HG. Now I have 3 6bolt 1g heads. The one That came off This motor itself is Great no problems. Only thing is it has not been decked but ive taken off all the old composite gasket and has a mirror finish and ive layed a metal ruler across it and had a feeler gauge and it was completely flat... The other head i got from my brother is also a 6bolt. It has New Lifters, Stock cams, and the inside of it is all nice and shiny aluminum, not bronzed over from burned oil, and HAS BEEN DECKED.... but it looks like its Valves are Were untouched from the rebuilt and look old. The exhause and intake ports are kinda cruddy but the top end of the head is rebuilt..... And then i have The Last head which was rebuilt 20K miles ago and has fresh valve seals...... All the Heads Are Straight and Not warped... Which Head would YOU guys Take to put onto the motor???? here is a short breakdown if you dont want to read all this...
1.(head that came off the motor) IS straight i mirror polished the bottom but is not decked, nothing is wrong with it.
2.Rebuilt top end including lifters and Cams, Valves seem Old, and Intake, exhuast ports have like some crud in them, but this head IS DECKED...
3. Rebuilt 20K miles ago Good condition head valve seals look new.
which should i use????
