I need a new fuel pump for my 94 Turbo AWD. I'm NOT going to be doing any upgrades or anything and need to do this as cheaply as possible, so I would like to just put another stock fuel pump in.

Do I need a fuel pump from a 92-94 AWD or can I use one from a 90-91 AWD? Which one will work for me??

If I did put an aftermarket fuel pump in, would the better flow and pressure hurt anything in my completely stock 156K mile engine??

I suggest you do a 190 lph pump, its a simple bolt on without the need of a afpr. It also flows more for you to crank the boost up on the stock turbo (assuming you have the 14b).

Agreed.

This is a cheap and practical solution

Yea I also agree. Just get a Walbro 190 you dont need a fpr and they are all over ebay for like 100 bucks shipped, it will not damage anything and you will be safe to run boost up to 16psi (from my own experience although every car is different, if your car blows up I am not liable:p). Good luck!:thumb:

Ok here is the story...found one my problem is definitely my fuel pump. I have 100% stock '94 Talon TSI AWD 5-spd with 156K on it. Can someone tell me the cheapest way to go with this.

I know absolutely nothing about aftermarket fuel pumps, and in the above replies it was mentioned about "190 lph pump, its a simple bolt on without the need of a afpr" or "Walbro 190 you dont need a fpr"?????????

What is an AFPR?? What is a 190 LPH pump? Is this a brand?

I want one that is a simple bolt/plug in to replace the stock pump. Maybe someone can even give me a brand and part number for what I would need? Again I would like to do this as cheaply as possible since I'm not working at the moment and just want to get the car driveable.

Thanks in advance!

an "AFPR" is AFTERMARKET FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR" and it does exactly what it says (our stock ones cant handle that much flow above stock so an afpr will help you control the pressure)

a "190 LPH" is a WALBRO (that's the brand) the 190lph is the lowest pump there is for your cars and as close to our stock ones as you can get (they are also cheaper than buying oem from the dealer and most cases the local autozone.

it is a plug and play pretty much (just make sure you buy it with the install kit for your car)

fuel pump model:GSS278

and in your case the kit number is:400-857

here is a link of one of the venders that sells it with the kit for a good price.

Walbro 190lph Fuel Pump & Installation Kit (DSM / Evo / WRX & STi) - Modern Automotive Performance

(if you make it over $99.99 shipping is free LOL)

hope this helps:thumb:
