Is there any way to tell if my fuel pump has been upgraded with a pocket logger, or am I going to have to just take it out and look for myself?

The only way to be sure is to take it out.
It might whine like a Walbro but you still wouldn't know what size.
And the upgrade Denso don't sound any different than stock.

If your fuel pump assembly is rusted shut you'll have a clue that the pump isn't upgraded.

In case you have a Walbro. There are a couple of number wich can tell you weather it is a 190lph, 255lph or 255 HP lph. Check it an compare it with the numbers below.

The GSS278 is the 1G 190lph pump, the GSS250 is the 2G 190lph pump, the GSS315 is the 1G 255lph pump, the GSS317 is the 2G 255lph pump, the GSS341 is the 1G 255lph High Pressure pump, and the GSS342 is the 2G 255lph High Pressure pump

I replaced my stock pump with a 255, and the stock was larger around. Also, (this is more of a question to assist). I bought an entire assembly and the person who shipped it to me was sure the pump was stock. But it looked like my walbro (size and all), but had NO markings like stock would? WTF
