Which Fake Racing Seats Should I Get Off eBay?

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

man i was looking at sparco seats but i rather get thise they sound like the bang for the buck...just wish they had a whit/black combo...that would look good on my car LOL

Also, it is perfectly fine to have 4 point harnesses attached at an angle leading to the rear seat mounting points. A 45 degree angle is perfectly safe. Extreme downward angles or attaching the harnesses to the bottom of the front seats is definitely dangerous. Rear seats is fine though and is recommended by many major seatbelt harness manufacturers as a fine location to mount them if a harness bar isn't available.

So what's the final word on these Megan Racing seats? I'm also looking at a set of Yonaka (either Ronin's or Samurai's, not sure yet). The guy at Bonehead Performance said that they're a pretty good seat and that he actually has a set in his 2g.

I have a pair of yonaka's. Black I don't know how they will last in longevity but for the price not bad will install next month when it becomes warmer:). The fabric is alright I can snap pictures for you if you want.

Take a look at these seats listed on ebay:
eBay Motors: 2 BRIDE SEATS HONDA ACURA NISSAN TOYOTA GM GRADATION (item 110222664907 end time Feb-14-08 13:02:18 PST)

The seller claims these to be 100% authentic although the price would suggest otherwise. To me they appear to be Yonaka Ronin seats wrapped in Bride fabric (notice the recline adjustment knob and the overall shape and design). I was actually thinking of buying a set of Yonaka's and if these are the exact same seat only re-wrapped then this might be a decent deal. What do you guys think??

eBay Bride seats are a suede-like material, real Bride seats aren't. For the most part people won't be able to tell, unless of course you're with a person who knows about Bride seats :thumb: if you get them, get ready for ignorant people to ask for the "groom" seat

Going with an imitation seat that holds your body in an accident? Just not something I would do. Sliders with the brackets will make the seat sit higher, this was not an option for me as I am 6'2 and with a helmet I would laready have to duck with the stockers. I went with a bottom mount sparco and went straight to the bracket, fixed my issue, evn have about 1 inch of clearance with a helmet on. As long as you mount it up while test fitting the seat correctly, why would you need to slide? I just have me drive my car, nobody else and mine is perfect, I now LOVE the seating position of my car.

PS= I run a cheap sparco (the speed) and the seat still looks brand new more than year later. Never had a single problem. Selling for 300 as its got the upgraded fabric only a 100 dollars more than the seats you guys are considering, you have to keep your eye out for good deals. Get the real thing or pay for it in the end by buying twice. These are an instance where I pay for real, and yes ive run plenty of ebay things (short shifter, fmic, and other small things). Just went with a set of MOMO supercup seats.

I'm still undecided actually... One of the thing's that I really hate on my ebay seats that I have now, is the bottom side bolsters and how high they are. It really makes getting in and out of my car a major PITA. I noticed that on the Yonaka Ronin's (or the re-wrapped Bride knock-offs) that the bottom side bolsters are extremely aggressive. My car is a daily driver so I will getting in and out of these things quite often.

Because of these reasons, I'm again leaning more towards the Mega Racing seats which don't have such an aggresive side bolster on the bottom side of their seats. Plus... I was told by a Megan Racing sales rep, that they gaurantee their seats for 1 year. There's obviously no warranty when buying from an ebay vendor (especially one that is out of the country) and the Yonaka seats only carry a lifetime warranty on the frame and not fabric.

Here are the pictures. I did get the Yonaka Racing Black Cloth Version of the seats. The sliders sort of slide unsmoothly. It has a cheap goo or oil in it that makes it slide slow and not smooth enough. WD-40 fixes that. Haven't installed the seats yet. For the price its alright. Will get back to you on that. Anyone need clearer pictures?

X2 don't compromise cause if you save for a couple more months, you will have something better...cheap parts don't belong on a quality car, they belong on a cheap car and/or hooptie

I laugh when I see people with Bride Replica's :tease: Sometimes the stitching is not even. :toobad:

Anyone work or know anyone at crash test facilities, test these EBAY seats. If they turn out to be fine, boy is the market going to be opening up in the seats department, just like the ebay turbo and fmic products.

well they aren't real Ralliart seats, they look like they have some cheap pleather that doesn't even stretch properly and the plastic bottom and reclining adjuster doesn't look all that "durable"

for $150... what more do you want? I would say spend a little bit more and invest in something like a Corbeau A4. Affordable, sturdy and durable.
