I was wondering which lip/ splitter I should get for my car. I actually like how both look. But I need help deciding on which I should get.
My car:

Or should I NOT get a lip/ splitter?

splitter, i like the way its thinner compared to the RMDSM which hangs down. i hope your car isnt a DD if your getting a CF one...

Opps if you notice the bottom of my front bumper isn't flat, so the splitter would look like its pointed upwards if I got one.
My car will sit in the garage when I go off to college.

it doesnt matter if the bottom of your bumper isnt perfectly flat.... you can get those metal rods (dont know the actual name of them) like that evo has on it and level it out.

A splitter would be more beneficial but only if it covers up the bottom of your front bumper cover. Make sure it's on the vehicle SECURELY though, I lost one driving down the road and it had a ton of bolts through it.

It will help to negate lift (added cornerning and acceleration) as well as look sexy.

Get the splitter but like someone said watch out while driving if it's CF, especially in Colorado. I would personally not put either on your car looks sexy now. :thumb:

I'd say go with the splitter, more functional and I've never seen one on a 2g before. Anybody have pics?

Go for whichever one you feel most comfortable with paying for several times.

Don't expect it to last through a month of street driving.

This is why I made my own. Cheap and easily replaceable LOL! Not the prettiest looking things, but well, it blends in. :p

With a lip that hangs down 2 inches, this is very true. A splitter barely reduces ground clearance at all, I have driven with mine for almost 2 years now.

drop the nose an extra 1/4" and you won't need one (or at least you will get the same benefit as the small "splitters" 2-3" above the tarmac)

They aren't that functional unless like the rmdsm lip they are very deep and close to the tarmac (making the car look like a pug and insuring they will be hit frequently) or are a bit bigger than the one shown and sealed to the body, and very very strong... like cf wrapped aluminum and again close to the tarmac...

their job is to keep air from flowing under the nose.

TOTalon, I still have your PM's that you sent me about the splitter you make. The only thing I wonder is, will the splitter be angled up since the bottom of the front bumper isn't flat.
TOTalon, can you provide any side shots of the splitter on the 2g? Thanks!

It does angle up slightly, but its not noticable unless youre looking at it from a low perspective.

In terms of being functional, I think most people would say thats not high on their priority list when shopping for a lip. If you are really woried about keeping the nose down at very high speed to improve performance, your car is probably not street driven. For the majority of people, a lip looks cool and protects the front bumper.

I dont have any close up side shots at the moment. There is a side shot of my car in my gallery, but it doesnt show the lip too well. Ill have some more pics in the next couple of weeks now that my car is back on the road.

I like this one the best.

There is an old thread on this one but it got closed. No Idea why.

It's pretty damn expensive but I just ordered one. It's probably going to take a about a month before I have it in my hands though. And when it gets here I'm going to have to figure out a way to make it fit because it's not designed for our cars.
