so i am having boost creep issues and was told that buying an external wastegate is the way to go. I'm wondering which one i should buy for my setup. basically everything is stock except for the small 16g and for boost in figuring on running around 12 psi...any thoughts or comments??!?!

well im experiencing boost creep and its supposed to be a solution to the issue

well if i turn it up more i hit fuel cut at 16 psi and thats no good im starting to think my internal has froze up but im not really sure how to test that one

You can test it with the regulator on an air compressor.

Set it to 12psi, put it on the nipple, see what happens.

You may need to port the WG hole. Or just get something to tune with, rewire the pump and get some 550cc injectors.

Good luck.

i really dont have access to an air compressor...cant i just jiggle that arm and see if it moves

cheap always sounds good to me anyway what am i looking for when testing it and how do i test it

I would personally work on getting a bigger fuel pump injectors and ecmlink, and im sure that turbo will love 16psi and hopefully not run into many spike issues.Make sure boost controller setup right and boost gauge and wideband. That will be perfect setup for you.Shop smart find good deals, it does take a little money but thats all you really need to get that car vroomin.

First, test your wastegate actuator to see if it is working. If it isn't working replace it, it will be a cheap and easy fix. If it is working then it is the standard case of the high flowing exhaust being the path of least resistance over the wastegate passage. The easy way to fix it would be to replace you o2 sensor housing with an aftermarket one or port the stock one, especially the wastegate passage. The best way to fix it would be to ALSO port out the actual turbine housing. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/articles-turbo-system-intercooler/186525-how-cure-boost-creep-porting.html

Yeah you dont need external, fix that boost creep, not on a mhi turbo, never seen one on a stock turbo.
You have never seen an external wastegate on an MHI turbo? Well here is my 14b/7cm with a Tial 38mm MVS on a MAP o2 sensor housing. I removed the internal wastegate (the actual flapper and arm) and had the hole (for the wastegate arm) welded shut.
