i have 3inch apex dp cat eliminated with greddy evo exhaust. its actually very deep and not loud. i my opinion it sounds great especially when the wastegate opens up

Comments. TOO LOUD, CAN'T HOLD ON A CONVERSATION WITHOUT YELLING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. :) Sorry, but that's kinda what it's like riding around in the car at anything over about 45mph. :)
 
Well, you usually see the compressor side of the turbo on the opposite side of the timing components on DSMs. I was just wondering why yours was "backwards".

Also...if your dipstick decides to jump out, your turbo will get a free oil job. :shhh:
 
It was the best way to hang it for several reasons.. avoiding the radiator fan, routing the 3.5in exhaust, ic piping, and avoiding the block/water pipe.

hehe, nah my dipstick likes it there, it wont be jumping out :)
 
3 inch S.S. downpipe, 3 inch S.S. cat eliminator, 3 inch mandrel bent (JC Whitney) welded,
3 inch Magnaflow, 3 inch S.S. tip. Sounds good with no legal issues.

Is your exhaust a real apex or just a custom exhaust with a apex muffler?

It just looks far too angled to be an apex.

I plan on doing the same thing with mine, but for right now i just have a 3" downpipe with a electric cut-out.
 
Here is the exhaust from www.kteller.com that my boy has on his gs-t. It's full stainless 3" from the cat back. The downpipe is a megan racing 3" with the obvious neckdown's. The muffler is a megan racing as well, angled to resemble apex.

This is the first time I had seen a GS-T exhaust from the underside. Is it normal for it to have that many bends?

Megan Racing had test-fitted my GSX for a full 3" turbo back and it is all straight, comparable to an STi's exhaust.
 
I'll post pics up later but as for my setup:

3" HRC Downpipe
3" AHP custom test pipe and catback piping
3" RRE resonator (22" long)
3" eBay N1 muffler.

Not to be an ass but the only reason i dont have an apexi right now is because of the way its angled in the back. Its great for having less bends but Im not a big fan of how it looks. Who knows I might wind up with the apexi in the end anyway :p but nice car props to your boy :thumb:
