i have a 1990 eagle talon with:
2g mas
2g ingen intake
18g fp turbo
OBX tubular exhaust mani (cracked)
1g ported o2
apexi turbo back exhaust
660 injectors
afrp
safc 1

the reason i want to change exhaust mani is because i dont like how it cracked and i want to get something that wont crack... any ideas i dont have much money and i am also getting a fmic here soon hopefully... i want something that will help turbo spool bucause the 18g doesnt start building boost tell about 2500-3000... thanks for reading this and any imput is greatly appreciated...

The FP race manifold is merely impossible to crack, being made of D5S Ni-Resist Turbine housing material. Much cheaper then a tubular manifold. They run bout $275. That would be my recommendation!

thank you for the quick replys... i have thought about running the 2g mani... i also have had my eye out on that fp race mani... i wish i wouldnt have bought this mani but i had to have my car running and i got a really good deal on the turbo, mani, injectors, intake, and O2 housing... but now i wish i would have waited and did a different setup but he we all get despret sometimes

i have seen the FP race go for 199 on some sites, not sure if that deals still going on, but that was last summer too.

Got mine for 175 when they first come out on a group buy. I am going to be running this mani with the monster H1C I have and am confident it wont crack. I read a thread on hear about making sure that you have your bracket attached to the block with the downpipe to all but stop manifold cracking. Just a thought.

the runner on one of them cracked all the way around... i dont want to weld it just for it to crack again and its in the worst spot so i cant get to it all very well but can do it...

Mine cracked and so did another guy here on tuners. They replaced his under warranty, but mine was out of warranty. (It was simply holding a 14b)

I welded mine up myself..... but they'll definitely crack, just not as easy as the 1g manifold.

depends on how much you want to spend. Slowboy racing had great deal, 200 for a HAFE SS cast manifold which is a better design then the evo3 manifold, and can be ported. It also has a provision for a 38mm external gate.

FP manifold is amazing but its 275

Or you can go with tubular DNP for like 550.

I am running the HAFE and its amazing. I have it ceramic coasted. the runners design is overall better then the evo3. It channels the exhaust gases in downward motion more effectively then the evo3. I think this is the best value for the money.

Goodluck

No matter what I would stay away from s.s. unless you want to always have issues (cracking, lots of heat, fires, ect.). I bought a s.s. and never installed it, went with a cast iron with a ewg flange and have had no problems. I'd say 90% of s.s. ones that I've seen have cracked, been replaced, or melted something. They so look good though.

Given i have a 420a N.A and not a 4g63 i also agree with this...
SS looks pretty for the first few months... but after so and so long the heat gets to it. i don't have header wrap on my SS headers just to "keep heat down" it also covers the ugly colour warpage that goes on too. Mine have never cracked or anything (but i'm not running as hot as you turbo guys) but still.

SS is good for exhaust and downpipes, just not for the manifold that goes off the block.

I haven't got it installed yet but I just picked up a HAFE SS manifold from SlowBoy this thing is insanely sturdy feeling. I had a ported SBR 2g for about 3 years and it finally cracked. I like the HAFE becuase its stainless steel so it won't rust plus if you want to use an external wastegate there is a flange builtin. my $.02

I struggled weather to buy this or the FP for a while but in the end I decided that this is my DD and I'd prefer it look good for the forseeable future even if I loose some spool time.

Good Luck the 2G was a great mani also!
