Which EVOIII set would you get? FP or SBR ?

Hi, I'm not shure which turbo set (EVOIII) to get?
Is one of these better than the other one?

money does not really matters....
but I really can't decide.
Performance wise, they should be equal i think...

I personally went the EvoIII ported/Slowboyracing ported manifold route. I got a great deal on those parts. Upon receiving the parts, I was very impressed with the quality of them. Here are some pics of them - http://community.webshots.com/album/507149875wZffBw
I'm pretty sure by this weekend the car will be running in one form or another, I'm just happy to be driving around a quick 5 speed car.

research on your own.. you will quickly see the million different opinions on this answer ..

as far as SBR versus FP.. I vote SBR's kit. But if you realize, the breakdown is the same damn thing..

SBR:
MHI E316G = 500
SBR 2g kit = 200
SBR manifold = 300..

so you're really not saving any money.

oh, and FP's kit is just a pure ripoff.. 1150 for an e316G WTF

if money really IS NO OPTION, then I suggest saving a little money by getting the SBR kit, having them make it an external wastegate, and then using th wastegate flange on the manifold, so you don't have to worry about creep.

that, IMO, is the ultimate e316G combo

Neither, Because you can buy a better turbo for that much money. Also, Buying an install kit is a waste of money.

Maybe I'm not reading this correctly, but are you looking at the 2G Total Solution kit from Slowboy? I took that kit and added in the porting options to make it comparable to the FP kit and it brought the total to $1259. This kit is comprised of:

- the turbo
- porting of the turbo
- exhaust manifold
- porting of the exhaust manifold
- 2g install kit (J-pipe, couplers, supply line, clamps, gaskets, etc)
- oil return line and water lines

The FP kit is $1145 and is comprised of:

- the turbo
- porting of the turbo
- O2 sensor housing
- porting of the O2 housing
- same install kit minus the J-pipe, plus an oil return line
- Walbro 255 high pressure fuel pump
- Joe P boost controller

The FP kit actually looks like it comes with more and costs less? The FP kit offers a ported EVO3 O2 housing, the SBR kit offers a ported exhaust manifold. They both have install kits with oil lines, gaskets, etc, but FP doesn't offer the J-pipe in their kit. The FP kit has a fuel pump and boost controller on top of all that.

In the end, it really doesn't matter. They'll both be good kits I'm sure, and they'll both get you similar, if not the same power increase. You'll still have other stuff to buy with either kit, but it looks like you'll have less to buy with the FP kit, that's all.
