Just as the title reads, which one would you chose....benefits or either? I will be running it with 550cc's and 190 or 255lph 16g FMIC 3" turbo back data logger MBC.

Thanks,

George

MAFT is a pain in the ass to tune, it isn't accurate, and most times it causes more problems than it's worth. There is really no reason to get it unless you want to vent your bov, or you are maxing out a 2g or Evo maf sensor. The only people that successfully use it are people with Dsmlink, they have the ability to properly calibrate the sensor using the airflow adjustments in the Dsmlink software. The Safc is much better in my opinion and I've used both.

Well I can say that I am using both. I am using the maft since I am using the gm maf. My safc is what I am using to tune with. I would think the maft would be a pain to tune with.

If I had to do it all over again I would probably just go with the 2g maf and a safc.

Neither... I'd go with MAFT Gen II. It has more settings and controls than a SAFC, has a MAFT and wideband tracking.

We are releasing the new MAFT GEN 2 units in 2 weeks This new version of the MAF Translator is a dramatic new upgrade from the regular unit. Borrowing some technology from the Translator Pro the Gen 2 now has the ability to adjust fuel + or - 60% in 1/2% steps across 14 RPM bands in 3 different load areas. We have also added our "wide band tracking" technology to this unit. You can connect any popular wideband that has a 0-5 volt output on the controller and then you can set the desired A/F ratio across the RPM band at WOT. The Gen 2 will then track A/F and automaticlly adjust the fuel to keep the desired ratio. If the car leans out it will add fuel. If the car is rich it will take it away. This will be a splice in unit that will be installed inside the car and we wil have adaptor harnesses to connect the GM MAF sensors directly to the stock harness under the hood. When used with a Keydiver chip this unit will also control WOT ignition timing!

If the Gen II doesn't meet your goals, go with DSMLink if you have e-prom and ECUPlus if you don't have/want to get an eprom.

The maft is basically just like an safc, Without all the blinky displays... If you know how to use it, You can go far. If you have no idea what you're doing, The no.. It's not for you.

The Safc gives you a much wider range of adjustment. The maft is not very accurate. People who buy Dsmlink and start datalogging figure that out very fast, because the reported airlfow is always way off.

Got E-prom?
What about Dsmchip/Safc. > I have 650CC and 2G MAS wich is compensated with dsmchips. the Safc help to have a fine tune. wich won't be as hard than having the Safc by itself.

The ideal way is to have dsmlink but is kind of expensive and I am not plaining in going crazy with my car.... Also if You use MAF-T, a wiseman recomend to have SAFC or other fuel managment to help tune the car.

Read here about Maf-T

2g MAS and SAFC is what I use, upgrading from SAFC to DSMLink later on. I dont even need a MAFT to vent in the atmosphere, my bov is a Tial.

Venting with the stock maf sensor is a bad idea. There are numerous reason's why it should be recirculated. Even if you think it's running right, it's not.
