I wouldnt get a body kit. Most of the time the fitment is horrible and they crack really easy. Stock is the only way to rock it with these cars.

Most people on the site are going to tell you to keep the outside looking stock, including me. Honestly I think eclipses do not look right with a body kit, the only body kit I like is the one on Andrew Brilliants 1997 Eclipse GST Spyder. But if body it kits is what your into then I guess chose the one you really like.

Ever thought of using that money to turbo it or something. Body kits are lame, especially if its on an N/A.

I'm going to agree with most everyone else and say keep a body kit off of it. If you want to set it apart from the crowd, look into rims, HID headlights, bumper lips, real carbon fiber hoods & hatches, mirrors, difusers, etc. Things like that are "tasteful" appearance mods and make the car look 1000x cleaner than whale tails and ground effects.

What would really set that car apart from the rest is a good trubo kit. :thumb:

Body kits won't get you home, but they get you laid..

Girls like cars that are fast and furious, not the cars from The Fast & Furious. :p

if your gonna do a body kit and you want it different.. customize it... I took a pic of my girl and cut her in it.. jsut something different..

holes will be fitted with mesh and what not after its painted...

the cutout is actually cut out.. mesh will go behind them as well along with lights on a switch for when parked.. also helps with air flow to the rad. :)

Well, as I say to most asking this question: do what you want to your car, it's yours, make it yours. That being said, if you go the bodykit route, try to buy a urethane one as fiberglass will crack with temperature variations and will also damage from road debris easier than the urethane kits. The Buddy Club 2 is a good choice as it's lines do work well with the car. Don't try to cheap-out on paint because it will show very easily on kits. Just make sure to go through fitment and take your time as this is important in getting a clean finished product.

I think this is the one you're mentioning:

make sure you get a body kit thats 97-99 and not 95-96 because it wont fit right. second- polyurethane or fiber glass. Fiber glass- Looks nicer, cracks, breaks easier. Polyurethane bends and is more durable, but is more expensive and sometimes since it bends can make the paint look awkward over time. Its ## choice. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE MONEY TO PAINT IT. If you dont do it right, it looks worse then when you started

Also keep in mind.. no matter what body kit you do get.. you will have to modify alittle and fix blimishes that will be in the kit.. so you will need to do a little body work to it as it is before you paint it... I havent seen one that is a straight bolt on so just take your time like it was said before by another dsmer already..

Take your time.. and make it yours... your the one that has to be happy with the end result as its on your car after all...

Weird another 2g NT owner looking for a body kit

All bodykits looks horrendous on these cars. Brilliants car has an aerokit not a body kit; it actually has a function.

I would spend the money, instead, on a blow horn so you can just carry it around and use that for attention. That way you don't desecrate your dodge neon.. I mean eclipse. ROFL

i have a body kit on mine and i have to say it looks better than the stock ones in MY OPINION!

 ...and I promise you'll be the only one on these forums with that opinion. And not to mention the blitz kit being the ugliest of all the kits built for these cars, coupled with your lambo doors and cheap graphics. Your car is straight out of 2001.

why does everyone always have to trash on everyone else.. we are all individuals.. we dress different we talk different we look different... our cars are going to express each persons personality... you dont have to like it but for crying out loud... respect it... we all love these cars.. really.. whats the point of flaming another because they dont think the way you do....

The OP asked about Body Kits.. we give our thoughts and suggestions no need to go any further than that...

Hey make it your own. The urathane kits are better but still need fit and finish work. Somtimes times its good to be diffrent, its what makes you, you, and not like everyone else.I got a bunch of crap saying what i was doing was a waste of time and wouldnt work, and that if I was asking questions that I didnt know what I was doing Oh and that it would cost a ton of money. Well guess what im proving them wrong on all counts. If u like somthing, go for it.

OMG!....

Anyway, remember it's your car, and your money, time, etc.

Tuners is a Performance based site. So body kit questions are frowned upon, by most.

The general consensus is, Cookie cutter.
Keep it stock, 2gb look is best!, just like everyone else
All eclipses must be Turbo'd, or it's just a neon.
14b, e3 16g, best turbos Evar!

Link, cause if you have anything else that's just stupid.
so on and so forth.

There are a few People ( mods, wisemen) on here that are wealths of information, and can lead you in many different ways, saving you time, money, and headaches along the way.

So long as you ask the right questions, be as descriptive as possible, and are able to follow basic grammatical rules.

and then there are the Sheep, those that believe it's ok to be just like everyone else.

I really don't care what other people think, I'm an OG owner of my 95 GSX, and a member since 2002, and yes I have a body kit, 19" Staggered wheels, don't own link (yet), I'm not looking to make a 1000 hp on a budget, get a world record run at willow springs, or Impress anyone but myself.

Now to answer your question.

The ED kit made from Duraflex is a great product offering more flexibility than the cheaper B2 fiberglass kits out there, fitment is OK, but Modification must be done to get it right. Take your time, and for god's sake Paint it!

Urethane is nice, but pricey.

You'll need the 97-99 eclipse kit, the 95-96 has different headlights, and won't fit.

LOL, cheap graphics? your just mad, whats so bad about being out of 2001? FYI i dont have lambo doors anymore. so good try trolling
