does anyone know where to refill the frion for my airconditioner? pics would be a big help but if you could describe it that would help too..thanks

The low pressure nipple is on the drivers side of your AC compressor which is underneath your intake manifold towards the drivers side.

Do you plan on getting r12 or r134a?

I personally would just take it to a place that specializes in A/C repair. Brother actaully took his car toa place the other day and got his system recharged and they charged him about 150.

r134a i believe..i think thats all they sell in the store...whats the difference which should i use?

Well most of our cars especialy the 1g's like mine use r12 which is expensive now and very hard to find atleast here in south florida. So if you havent done the conversion for r134 and you put that in, all it will do is leak out becuase it is to thin.

I don't believe that is true. it's not going to leak out unless you have a leak. It MAY have issues seperating water, MAY kill seals in the system, and MAY conflict with any old stuff left in the system.

You SHOULD do a proper conversion.

Or you could do what I just did and use one of the refill/conversion kits, but don't expect perfect results. If you can afford it, have things properly converted.

*edit* and yes, your car came with R12, which is why i asked. You CANNOT just pump R134a in without at least cleaning all the R12 out.

Ok well maybe I was mistaken thanks for the info:thumb: now let me ask a quick question. Before I didnt kow this I put r134a in my lines i think with r12 but then my compressor went bad so now i wanna do it all over again but with r12 how do i go about letting all the freeon out. Do I just push in the high fitting until it doesnt blow out any more or is there some other kind of way...???

I believe the proper way is to attach a vacuum pump to the high psi valve and clear the whole system.

If you have to replace major components, why not convert?

I really dont have to replace nothing that I know of I juts put on a a/c belt and it blows just not cold so I belieave I only need freeon

If it still has r12 in it you need to get it done properly and have someone capture the old r12 freon rather than just letting it escape into the atmosphere.

^^ is correct, you need to have the original r12 recovered. You will need new r12 for it to run, r12 and r134a are not compatable with each other.

then you will need to hook it up to a vacuum pump to remove any air or moisture in the system, your best bet will be to have an a/c shop do it, unless you have connections with someone in the HVAC industry you will not be able to buy any r12.

I did this conversion myself on my 240sx, I got a lil vaccum pump simply sucked that stuff out replaced the fittings and had to get the pressure release valve sealed I think R134A operates at a higher pressure than R12. But once that was done R134a worked great with my R12 system going to do the same on the tsi

Well how hard is it really to do the conversion on my 93 gsx is there a how to I searched on vfaq.com and I couldn't find nothin.
