Where to find BLANK CAMS????

Does anyone know where to find blank cams??? my friend has got a set of hks 272's and i would rather not regrind my stock ones for obvious reasons....... please let me know if you can get blanks and if they can be ground to match the 272 profile

Comp cams will sell you just a blank. They can can also copy HKS' grind... The engineer there that designed their 4G63 cams actually owns 3 1G's. I'll get you his name tomorrow when I get back into my office. I was actually at their Memphis faciltiy about 4 weeks ago. He gave the the part numbers to order to get the 264/272 combo. I'll make another post tomorrow morning....

OK, the R&D engineer at comp that knows the 4G63 well, is Chris Sulewski. I'm not sure his name will do you any good though. The engineers dont take random phone calls.....
Chris told me that their part number 101100 is equivelent to the HKS 264 and their part number 101200 is equivelent to the HSK 272.

Chris told me when they set out to make a 4G63 cam, they identified HKS had the best cam on the market at the time. They got a set and ran them on the engine dyno. He said it was well machined and made great power. He said it did take him a while to tweek their desin to match the potential of the HKS, but in the end, their 101200 ended up making about 4-6HP more than HKS' did.

If you want, you can order their grind or you can get a blank from them. They wont sell directly to you, but I am one of their biggest dealers, so I can sell to you. Call them (i just PM'd you their number) and get the part number for a blank (if thats what you want) and then PM me with it.

Comp's are about $430 for the pair..... And they are much easier to obtain due to the fact that they are ground and warehoused here in the states.
