1G Where is my tps?

Ok guys I know this is a newb question but where is my tps and how do i clean and is it hard to remove. Any help would be awesome.

Its the sensor connected to the front of the throttle body. Its held in by two screws, and a wire clip that holds the connector to the sensor.

Someone may answer in more detail, but you'll find it atop the throttle body opposite side to where the throttle linkage is attached. It can be tough to get at due to crowding in that spot.

The concern with high mileage TPS units is loss of continuity with wear/age. If the unit doesn't indicate a smooth transition through resistance values while giving it a complete turn, zero to full throttle, it should probably be tossed away for a new one or at least lower mileage and reliably tested one.

If there is even a slight chance of glitching with a refurb/cleaned/unrealiable TPS, the results are very nasty indeed. Violent spurts of full throttle to zero, and back and forth again.

Short reply - I wouldn't. You can try, but I don't believe anyone in the know who'd recommend trying to and gain reliability from a part known to give way to wear problems since it is a sliding contact controller.
