Hi Guys,

After being out of DSM's for the past 3 years I finally got another one. Its a 1990 Tsi. Its been a while and I don't remember how lines are suppose to run or where they go. Hopefully you guys can help. I tried labeling things to help.

Can I run D into B with a T fitting and run boost gauge off of that?
where can I run A to?

Thanks again!

First picture- Mounts on the driver side fan, kind of at an angle.

2nd- That's the waterneck correct? Looks like one of the coolant sensors, but it's hard to see. 1g or 2g?

3rd- ABCD look like a mess of hoses that shouldn't be teed off that many times. Pull up a vacuum line diagram and redo all those and then hook it up the right way.

PICS from my last DSM.

That last picture is a complete reason as to why so many DSMS run like shit.

Look up how to

A : Properly route your PCV system Edit : Actually, the PCV looks good. Should still read just in case.
B : Tapping the BOV
C : How to properly tap your FPR line for a Boost Gauge.
D : How not to destroy your engine.

I am curious as well to what the first picture is, for more reference, it mounts on the a/c fan side. What is it for and what does it do?

first pick
A: Resistor pack mounted on front thermo fan (from memory runs in series from the fans to ground...)

second pick:
A: A/C coolant temp switch
B: EGR temp valve (should have hoses connected to the throttle and charcol canister)
C: ECU temp sensor
D: Dash temp gauge sensor

third pick: get a vacuum distribution block to clean it up... or tap direct into the mani for extra vac ports...

Since I don't have a/c I can plug A?
Since I am blocking egr I can plug B?

Thanks everyone for your input.
