Go ahead and laugh, Im laughing myself. 95 gst almost complete and ready to fire, minus spark plugs. Then I look over on the bench and see this 12 inch harness, that looks like a crank sensor. It fits a plug on the drivers side of the intake manifold. But I dont see a hole in the bottom timing cover to feed it through. Im assuming its a crank sensor, like my Fiat has, but I dont want to tear it all apart till Im sure. Thanks in advance fo any info.
I have a pic if needed.

Just stick your head back their, youll see it, but if you dont see it and cant feel it, use your owners manual if you have to.

I just looked at the car. I can see where the sensor goes, its a tight fit. Was wondering if I could get it on by loosening up the cam wheel and sliding it out a little. I really hope I dont need to remove the timing belt again.

You might be able to get away with using zipties to hold the timing belt on the cam gear and then disconnecting it from the cam. That would allow you to pull the cam gear out of the way enough, without messing up the timing, to get the sensor in there.

I wouldn't risk it, it's not worth it. I'm in a similar situation with my 6 bolt swap. I have to redo the timing belt because I have the 1g motor mount on.

Its not something I would normally recommend. Especially since you can redo the timing belt rather quickly and easily. But if he is set against doing the timing belt again than its the best I can think of.

The short cut didnt work. Wasted alot of time. We ended up taking it completely apart. My kid was bummed, he thought we would have it running today. Its been down for months, so whats another day or two. Thanks for all your help. Tommrow we will set the tension on the timing belt, and try again.
