Langley,
I want to get new vacuum lines and I would like to get it in a certain color, like blue or red. I want to know where to buy them from? Are they available in different colors from auto parts stores?

ps. are all the vacuum lines the same internal diameter size? if not, what are the different sizes?

i think most of the lines autozone has are black ... but i kno out here in st.louis they do have a little package of silicone vac lines that come in red and blue, i also seen a site while bak of a big package of colord vac lines ill try and find that addy for u

I'm assuming our cars use a variety of sizes within the engine, right? How much should i be paying for lines by the foot? The auto parts store near me is charging .50 to a $1 per foot.

well this was a kit i already threw way the box that said how much 4mm,6mm,and 8mm hoses came in the kit. I know that 6mm was the most used so get about 5ft of that, followed by 4mm i say 4ft, and 8mm i say 4ft  i dunno its hard to tell since i still have a good amount left over and i didnt buy it by the foot :dsm:

I actually just ordered a kit online. I probably paid too much and got too much but I guess I can afford it and I'll find things to do with it. It has like 50ft. in total with five different sizes.

I originally had yellow vacuum tubes in my engine bay and my mechanic that did the engine swap change them back to factory. The aftermarket vacuum lines are not as high a quality as the factory lines. Although they may look cool, I've decided to stay away from them. Just wanted to let you guys know what i've been told in the past. Happy hunting. :dsm:

In addition, make sure you use the correct lines in all the right places. (Meaning use the right I.D.) If you run out of a certain size, don't place another size in as a cheap fix. :dsm:

i bought mine tonight from hightempsilicone.com and I hope their stuff is good quality. Anybody have experience with their stuff?

I was warned the pilot are crap so returned them unused and bought vibrant. They say they will not collapse and are better on the package but someone else said they cracked and blew out at high boost.Anyone else run the vibrant lines?
I have heard good things about that silicone ebay placea and also heard good things about rre and larson thing they are kits.
I will mabye return my vibrant, use stock for now and then go with rre .i still think silicone is better than rubber in just about every application.Silicone intercooler couplers are much superior to rubber.Rubber hoses rot and crack and break too.The factory are not so great.

i just got the larson kit from RRE for my 2g. the kit is priced great for the 2g not sure about 1g. I had used the kit on my 3g for over a year and never had any problems. I am very happy with them. Although i agree aftermarket is not equall in quality as oem.

I used the black 1G larson kit from RRE. I could have used a little more hose but it worked out ok.
I've found that the PCV line weeps in use and I'll be switching it back to factory hose.

Yes my breather line as well, I'll be changing that this weekend.
