My floor mats are stained and falling apart. Does anyone know of some custom floor mats that fit a 2gen car? I don't want any flame designs or NOS crap on them, just a solid color and maybe a small logo.
I also traced around the little cardboard "thingys" that give the carpet its shape with a sharpie so if one fell off while washing I'd know exactly where it went. Take the carpet to the carwash and bring a trash bag (or two you might want to double bag it). The trash bag is for the ride home. Hang up the carpet on the clips for the floor mats. Start spraying it down with the soap setting. I saw all sorts of nasty stuff just running out of mine. Put it on the rinse setting, and do so till the water running out of the carpet is clean. Put the carpet in the trash bag(s). Take the carpet home and spread out to dry. I hung mine on our fence for a day (nice warm weather) or another option I also did to speed up the process was to use a wet and dry vaccum to speed up the process. Anyway this method cost me about $5 and that was washing the carpet and the car I brought it in!!
If you're planning on replacing the carpet anyway give it a try you might be surprised. I've always been happy with the results and didn't think it needed replacing afterwards. Sorry this post was so long but maybe it will save one of my fellow DSMers some dough and headache of putting in new carpet.
