where can i get a new sunroof assembly for my 96 rs?

my sunroof shattered, the assembly is totaly ruined the tracks don't move....nothing. so i took the assembly off and i have another assembly from my junk 97 rs but its like an inch too long and its not wide enough by about a half inch. did they change the sunroof along with the canges they made on the body on the 97-99 models? i also noticed that on the 97 sunroof i have, i had to rip off the head liner, there was no plastic surrounding it nor was there a light next to the button but on my 96 rs it has the plastic, there is a light, and there was no need to rip the head liner out you would just pop the plastic off. is it possible that i can buy the 96 assembly somewhere?

I've bought used sunroof assemblies from junkyards. IIRC I paid about $120 for the complete unit.

My advice to you would be to save the "black box" from yours, as they are kinda flakey. If you find a sunroof, install it, and it doesn't work properly, then swap that box for another one and see if it cures it. I went through 3 in one car before finding one that works half the time .

DSM Graveyard - Your #1 Source for Used DSM Parts! i was looking at this sunroof and even tough its out of stock i would like to know what that metal is surrounding the glass... when i took my assembly off it just had that plastic weather strip (i guess you would call it) outlining that gets glued to the roof around it

i was just told by a representative of dsm graveyard that i had an after market sunroof on both my dsm's thanks for the help

Bought the entire sunroof assembly for 45 bucks
Had a shop install it and its awesome
